Hey, firstly welcome to the forum!

To answer your question, your festival ticket doesn't have your name on it so isn't an issue - they scan it when you enter the site and actually take it off you in exchange for a wristband.

To get the Over 18's wristband you have to go to a tent outside of the arena and show ID. They are quite strict so make sure this ID will actually work but tbh you shouldn't really use it as it's not legal + why would you want to buy the expensive pints in the festival when you can just as easily bring cans into the campsite which clearly costs considerably less.

In addition, the over 18's wristband doesn't even work all the time as the bars are run by the Worker's Beer Company who, while closely working with the festival, are under no obligation to actually accept the wristband as a form of being 18+, so could very well ask to your actual ID at the bar (they ask for additional ID a lot).

Hope this has somewhat answered your question but fire any more my way if it hasn't. :)

Cheers - Problem is that when your Young you don't really think how your actions can affect other people - These days before anyone can set foot inside a bar to work - they have to sign a legal contract so really they have volunteers by the Balls - I was at Hyde park in 2006 when a joker was making up fake ID outside the bloody gate but lucky enough they failed a UV Scan so they were dead easy to spot - by the time the Police were on the case the joker had vanished.

That's true. I've worked on the door for a few bars/venues in Reading now (SIA licensed but mainly do inside work) and it's true that security/bar staff would rather turn you down and away if there's even the smallest shred of doubt even if your ID is actually real as the implications are far worse for the person who illegally serves you/lets you in than the underage person..

Having been out with a 17 year old mate in Leeds after Editors I know this all too well. Luckily we found some shitty underground bar/drug den where the bouncer was giving directions, so my mate could sprint past him, down the stairs and into the toilets. Brill.

There would be absolutely no point in going to a club in Reading without ID. My hair is so much shorter in my driving license photo than it is now and for that reason alone, the bouncers often give me a funny look and call over their mate for a second opinion.

    • Likelihood is it'll be on Sunrise and Alcove but theres potential for some more in the tent as there have been 8 acts on some days in recent years. Obelisk is likely full now unless they have a few shorter sets thrown in   Im surprised they haven't had some secret sets thrown into the mix this time round unless they do and we find some gaps in the schedule is released

    • Saturday notes:   MARINA - absolute highlight, a proper diva, I'm so glad I skipped the headliners for her. Also, the crowd was beautiful, no yapping, no pushing, just enjoying the music together. Primavera crowd at its best.   Ninajirachi - One would say that at the end of the last day of the festival, they must have told each other everything, right? Not really. There was still SO MUCH MORE to say. Primavera crowd at its worst. It was completely packed and someone was constantly pushing themselves through the crowd. It was quite difficult to enjoy the set, even though I love her music.   Olivia Rodrigo - The teasing, the speculations, finally the confirmation and the first reactions of people! When I was showing the "tweet" to my partner, there was a young girl standing behind us who asked me very politely if she could see it and if it is really happening here tonight and after she finally processed it, she had the cutest "Holy. sh*t." reaction. Few minutes later, when refilling the water, I almost lost it when another girl beside me started screaming "Oh my god! Oh my god! No way! Oh my god!", staring into her phone. And then also Robert Smith came. I must admit I'm not familiar with Olivia's songs (but I'm planning to change it) and can't really say I loved the set itself, but I absolutely loved the whole Olivia Rodrigo experience.
