Plenty of threads which are very helpful on what to bring but I do not have a clue what to bring with regards to money.

i am guessing you could spend as much or as little as possible but what would be a sensible budget per day. We will arrive at 8am Wednesday and head home on the Monday morning.

I reckon to budget £7 per meal (some cheaper, some more expensive), beer/cider roughly £4.50 a pint. Then whatever spends you want on soft drinks, shopping, fags, etc etc. Spend less by taking your own booze and drinking the perfectly safe tap water. Theres plenty of cash point machines too, carrying too much cash around with you isn't wise unless you stash some in the lock-ups which free (or small donation)

I generally take pretty much all my drinks with me. It involves a couple of walks back to the van but it works for me and my group. I bought one pint last year to have a cold one for a change but all I spent on was food. The food there is unreal, anything you can think of you can get (and even things you wouldn't think of). Around 100-120 quid does me and that's literally not even watching the penny's. Just buy what I want when I want. The food is from around £4:50 upwards, although I pretty much live on a diet of pork and stuffing baguettes with Apple sauce.

Everyone I speak to has a different idea of how much to take but my group seems to spend roughly the same. Everywhere is free to enter so unless you are thinking of buying stuff from the markets and shops (of which there are tons selling anything from condoms to hats to bongs) I reckon 150 (30 per day) is more than safe (plus your bank card of course)

Just one more thing, the first year we went we took all kinds of cooking apparatus and food and that novelty lasted about 20 mins before we ditched the lot and went and got a monster breakfast roll from one of the millions of food trailers. The beer is expensive, the food is mostly reasonable.

I budget about £50 a day if I have anything left its a bonus. I also take bank card just Incase.

Theres 2 of us we budget 40 a day for food (tenner a meal 2 meals a day) and always take an extra hundred just incase.

So we take 300

But we don't buy booze there as we take our own and always come home with loads left

Oh good, was nearly going to post the same question myself today. I'm travelling solo and on the coach so keeping everything to a minimum and travelling as light as possible.

Which means bringing no food and minimal booze. So hoping about £50 should do me a day and keep a £100 in reserve for just in case?

The general consensus seems to be a lot less than what I had envisaged which is great news. I could probably manage on a £10 a day if I didn't take drugs!

A few years back (2011 possibly) the two of us spent less than £100 in total. Took all our own booze, and lots of food too. Granted we were in a trailer tent so had cooking facilities, but if you plan a few meals you can have at the tent and take booze you can definitely do it on the cheap.

That sounds about right, a tip re food, the further away from the main stages you get, the greater the variety of food, feels and taste more like higher quality as well, and sometimes a bit cheaper as well. Drink prices are not too bad for an event like this either, certainly that are not central London prices. That said, if you are bringing your own, spirits is the way to go, I'm a great lover of Pirate Tea (watered dark rum).

I usually take around £200 to Glasto, although I always end up having to get more money out (there is a card charge though and not that many ATM's around so best to avoid this if poss). I take all my own booze (crates of canned cider and a few water bottles full of vodka, a big water bottle (for water) you can keep re-filling, maybe buy one or two drinks when there and buy 3 meals a day (I'm a big eater) and I usually like to come home with a tshirt and you always end up spending money on random other bits and bobs. I think just over £200 is a decent amount.

Aye, hve last years magazine so think it was West Holts with all the cool food places so will be spending quite a lot of time there. I do love my food.

Will be bringing some Gin and Rum with me and worry about mixers and ice when I get there.

The weather has a lot to do with it aswell. In 2010 there was a pure heatwave the whole time so I was spending an awful lot on freshly made lemonade, ice cold smoothies and ice creams. Bottled luke warm water just wasn't cutting it

I think I spent about £300, last year. A good tip with cash to keep it safe is to put most of it into a lockup at the start and then go and collect enough for the day each morning. I use it like a cash machine, and means it's less of a disaster if anything goes missing!

I came by coach last year so only brought a litre of toffee vodka and a bottle of red wine. Some kind friends brought me 6 cans of cider and little rum for campsite drinking. I spent under 300 on the rest which included all food and a decent amount of drinks. I didn't skimp but I only bought food, drinks and a hat. Another shout out for the lock ups which I 'withdrew' from each day - they were brilliant!

There are general stores dotted around (unless they have changed since 2011, look for the big yellow signs over the serving counters), they have mixers a plenty, ice is trickier but sometimes they have it in.

It helps us keep track of what we're spending as we rarely need to hand over more than £10/15 in one go if buying food or a couple of pints. Been a couple of times in the past when I've had to challenge vendors at festivals over change (not only Glastonbury) when I've handed over a £20 for smallish purchases.

Best to be careful especially when in a merry state :-)

There are cashpoints on site so you don't need to bring a huge amount of money with you. Either withdraw only what you need for that day or keep your cash in the property lock-ups. They are free to use, the people there are nice and friendly and it means you can enjoy the festival without worrying about the wad of cash in your pocket. You can also check stuff in and out as many times as you like.
