in the little pre 1971 festival booklet that they made to try to get support for the festival they have some little maps on how the site is laid out on ley lines, And when I talked to andrew kerr he did say about wandering about putting things in positions in alignment with ley lines .

So ley lines and glastonbury are part of glastonbury festival history for sure, you do see andrew kerr wandering about the festival if you see him you could talk to him about it hes very nice, copies of the maps are are in his book intolerably hip I think

Unfortunately, you can draw lines between many things if, as is the case with ley lines, you're being selective about the things you draw lines between and exclude anything that doesn't quite fit.

Archaeologist Richard Atkinson once demonstrated this by taking the positions of telephone boxes and pointing out the existence of "telephone box leys". This, he thus argued, showed that the mere existence of such lines in a set of points does not prove that the lines are deliberate artefacts, especially since it is known that telephone boxes were not laid out in any such manner or with any such intention

I've walked a few over the years my cousin is into it all and has dragged me out a few times...

If you walk along them you have to "power walk" and not stroll and let the energy enter you.... They are like runways... Normally we walk up then down the Ley Line. On Dartmoor there is normally a line of stones either side of the Ley Line, easy to spot if you know what you're looking for...

That's all I know on the subject I'm afraid....

Serious question - those that do really believe in Ley Lines - why? What's wrong with the Atkinson argument that you can easily pick any landmarks and find lines between them. Is there any evidence of 'energy' that I'm not aware of? The only energy that I'm

These are all dead serious questions that I don't have answers to. I've not looked deeply into the subject, but I can't find anything to back it up. That might just be because I've not looked deeply enough. There could be something to it - is there any compelling evidence?

Bloody hell, Montague Keen is still going - used to be quite involved in the whole crop circle thing back in the day (which I was a bit too at the time).

Unfortunately the whole New Age thing to me gradually became a clear form of escapism and an excuse not to address the problems of the world by any other more tangible means...

I think it was John Mitchell who originally dowsed the area in order to advise over the positioning of the original Pyramid Stage.

why is it twaddle?

the festival wouldnt exist without the ley lines. That is an absolute fact.

Some people are just unable to see things from any other perspective than their own tedious, predictable angle.
