Is it worth it for 2 nights?

Hi,

I've previously been to Glastonbury a few times but never since I have started to teach. Now I can't decide whether to pay the full balance as I can only get down there on the Friday night and will have to come back Sunday night ready for work Monday morning.

Are there many that have done this before? Is it still worth the £230 + ticket price? Personally when I went before I loved the Weds/Thurs night and with me not being majorly interested in the line up, is my money best spent somewhere else?

I don't think it'd be worth it personally. There will be nice festivals and things to do outside of term time that you can make the most of. It's probably put a downer on your experience that you'd gone along late and had to leave early, but I have no experience in going to festivals late or leaving early so that's just my opinion based on nothing really.

My mate's girlfriend was in the same position and in the end decided she couldn't justify it, especially since she'd be coming down from Manchester.

I don't think I would bother if I could only get there Friday night either although guess a lot depends on what time you could get there for on the Friday and when you'd have to leave Sunday. Leaving mid-afternoon on Sunday just as everyone else is getting warmed up would be grim.

Personally I would crawl for miles over broken glass to get there for a hour......

May I suggest a sprained ankle? No can prove you do or dont have one, tubigrip bought from boots, use you right foot so you cant drive, any tan explained by the fact you were in the garden all weekend with your foot up.

Do it you know it makes sense

PM me for more ideas, nursed in A&E for years so know just what to say : ) :nurse:

look, here is the answser to your woes....

Wed, Thur are amazing - but by the time the bands start on friday I am already weeeeeell pleased enough with my ticket price. If I got there on the Friday and had to leave on the Sunday night then yeah I'd still be weeeeeell pleased enough with my ticket price.

S'up to you of course but I'd say the ticket price is very reasonable for whatever time you spend there.

One year I didn't get a full weekend ticket but was lucky enough to get a local ticket for £80 I stayed up the whole 24 hours and it was worth every moment. If you cant pull a sicky - a bad back is quite a good one - then arriving on the Friday is better than not going. in my humble opinion.

    • Geese playing for 1:20 instead of just an hour was a lovely surprise. The energy was great!
    • Oh well that's why then, I assumed it was still the same. Thanks!
    • Think this will be it...I think they are a level above trees.
