Best Booking This Year (so far)

Surprised this thread hasn't been made already

What act do you think is the best BOOKING of this years lineup.

What I mean by that is any of the following;

• An act that's currently very big, organisers were able to book someone who people would be looking to see during the summer
• A band that you didn't expect T would book, but have been booked.
• A band or act that you're just really pleased about playing
• Someone who rarely plays festivals
• An act / band that appeals to an older demographic
• someone who feels exclusive
• someone you'd expect would be playing higher but have been booked in a pretty decent slot
• etc

For me i'd say Pharrell Williams - big right now, had a really good year in 2013 and they've been able to (as it looks) secure him when he's wireless exclusive! Also he's only third down! He could easily of pushed for a sub spot!

Other people i'd say who are contenders are Pixies, Human League, Biffy Clyro, Manic Street Preachers, Embrace etc.

Hard to argue with Pharrell. The majority of the lineup is the standard festival fare that you'd expect playing at the major ones. Nothing else really jumps out.

The Human League is probably the winner for me.

Pharrell Williams was a pleasant surprise though.

pharrell williams for me just because the only festival he seems to be doing that you would pay for is T. im aware hes doing R1BW tho.

Whole weekend sold out? Was tempted when I saw they had him, cracking booking for them.

Dunno if there is any acts that could be considered 'best' booking, a lot of solid acts but most that were expected, maybe Pixies if they had been put on the Saturday.

All available tickets gone. Talk of extra saturday day tickets in the future possibly. Somehow they've managed to sell 40 extra camper van tickets than they have space for too so they'll be having fun.

Pixies would be a great booking if they didn't have them up against Biffy. I just can't understand the mentality.

Looked on Pixies website and it said they were playing main stage. This is what convinced me to buy tickets so hope it's true! Where have you seen that Biffy Pixies clash?
