Pharrell

So, I got my grubby mitts on a copy of the new Pharrell album yesterday and, as expected, it is excellent.

I'd love to see him on the Pyramid, however am not sure if they'd have him back after the infamous "N*E*R*D" incident of 2009.

Has anyone heard the album? What do you think? Do you think there's any chance of him at Glasto this year?

If I remember rightly didn't they come on late and then get their set cut off because they were over running? something like that

i think his new album is an absolute atrocity. that was hoping that godawful Happy song was just a one off but the rest of the album is just like it: shit

would probably still go and see him for his old solo stuff and N.E.R.D. material, but i'd have to bring a Gameboy along or something for when he plays the new stuff

already playing Wireless, T and V so he's nearby, at least

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
