Hi Guys,

Last year was my first glastonbury and have since fallen in love and become obssessed with the festival. One place i loved was Shangri La, i only managed to go there on the thursday night though, every other time i tried to go there it was blocked off because of how busy it was and you were looking atleast a 45min wait. Could any of you experts advise what days or times are best to get myself down there? Absolutely loved the lab rat last year and Bez's Acid House but didnt get chance to explore much else down there

thanks everyone :):):)

I really didn't think the queueing was that bad last year. I've only been told once it was too busy and that was in 2011 and they closed the queue. Then again we usually head down there between 2 and 3am. I think that's the best time to go without missing headliners, it's open all night so no rush!

Best night i had was watching the Stones from my tent, then heading to Arcadia for Fat Boy Slim and Chase and Status. We got inside the ring of fire cause we left our tent before the encore of RS.

Was amazing night at Arcadia then walked down the railway to the Naughty Corner and the spent all night there till 5am. It was incredible at that time, and the music was none stop. The day after we just spent the day being anoying to many sitting at the main stages watching the few acts we wanted to preventing our hangover from the night before.

My advice is like many, go early and stay or go late and stay...walking through the festival at 5am pass the Pyrimid stage the night after the Stone was amazing. To see it so busy and yet 5 hours later just deserted!

i think last year i was trying to do too much at once, i was burnt out every night. i think the latest i went back to my tent was 2am, going to have to try and pace myself better this year to stay out till the early hours each night, not quite sure why this was as at home i could stay up till 6am easy. i dont think it helped being up all night on the tuesday queuing and then going straight to the brothers bar soon as i was all pitched up instead of recharging the batteries for a few hours

In regards to getting in Shangri La, we went right after the Stones but went through the Common. We walked in with no problems. However on the Friday night we attempted to walk into it from the railway tracks and got blocked off at every entrance. We nearly considered jumping through the bushes but opted against the idea lol.

all this queuing is a night mare and i hope they do some thing to stop it ..i realise that its not like it was years ago but in some ways its becoming to busy in its self .it use to be that you could wander down and around at a leisurely pace but now its all queues and crowds even with Arcadia being moved .. :beach:
