Lineup 2015

Recommended Posts

Prediction 2015:

Beyonce & Jay Z

Coldplay

Calvin Harris' iTunes.

EDIT: Although this was a joke at Alan I can't help but think we could get Beyonce & Jay Z (not together but on separate days).

That's a joke too, right? Beyoncé will never ever headline R+L.

Well not any year soon but I could see it happening. In the end the festival wants to sell tickets and she is a big seller at the moment isn't she? Sure they're not going to suddenly book her next year but I can see her creep her way in at some point.

Saying that it would be disgusting to see.

It wouldn't be a ticket seller at R+L what with an undercard unsuited to her usual ticket buyers. I know there's some crossover as some people have a soft spot for a bit of pop music but no, they're not gonna obliterate the integrity of the festival (yeah I know Macklemore lmao) to pander to those. Absolutely wouldn't happen.

Eminem definitely made Macklemore a more justifiable booking. Lets say SOAD headlined over Eminem last year, Macklemore would get even more heat but you cannot deny Eminem has taking that off and helped Reading + Leeds evolve to justify high bookings for acts like that.

bollocks did he, Eminem a) played almost a decade ago anyway and B) isn't anything NEAR what Macklemore is in terms of hip hop. load of crap that is.

Agree with Yellow - you're reasoning isn't based on anything. Eminem is a proven headliner, has played the festival before, has headlined UK festival loads since then so him headlining wasn't out of the norm so doesn't really make Macklemore a more (or less) justifiable booking.

It certainly did have an effect, Eminem now is a much different to Eminem over a decade ago. Songs like 'survival' have hit similar audiences to that of 'ceiling can't hold us'.

I'm willing to bet anyone who likes Eminem and Macklemore wasn't drawn to the other because Eminem's new song sounded similar to the other. You're trying too hard to justify Macklemore's booking mate

You haven't listened to MMLP2 yet. There are a few songs which are more likely his old work. Just listen to Bad Guy.

Flo subbed in 2012 and is considered a R&L type act unlike Beyonce

Eminem 'paving the way' for Macklemore is nonsense. It's not like Eminem was the first rap act to play high up at Reading. If anything C&S would have done more to convince the organisers that new acts from genres that aren't usually given such consideration can be a success in high slots.

    • Where was this announced, if i may ask?   I really lucked out with a great spot for Ninajirachi up front with ample dancing space. What a crazyass vibe.   Overall it wasn't my favorite edition but the Friday and Saturday experiences justify a return trip next year.

    • If Werchter pulled in Blink and Foos plus like Sabrina if she's touring and got System if they are I'd be more inclined to try it vs RIP if they got Blink, Foos and System. I don't at the moment, maybe reflection will be different, think that RIP is greatly setup for overseas travelling over. It feels more like currently day festival days with a camping over separate rather than hotel as its included.
    • I think many US people are fed up with the US and have definitely discovered how amazing it is to come to Barcelona for a better experience and way cheaper than back home.   Surely PS doesnt set up a huge commercial festival only to not put in place a system where QR codes can’t be re-used?
    • They'll get Foo Fighters as well.
