I sent an e-mail 2 days ago asking why I hadn't got my deposit back yet, despite their promise to fast-track, and today I got a reply from Nochex (the company that holds the deposit) saying that it's being processed and should be with me within 5 days. It may just be that a reminder of some sort was needed, but I still won't relax until the money's back in my account.

They have (had) stolen my money. Their lack of response forced me to look into taking further action, that would have begun with informing the police of the theft. Where it went from there would have depended on their advice.

As someone has already pointed out, this classes as a commercial dispute and not theft so the old bill wouldn't have had any interest.

Pretty sure they would have advised me with who would.

Their advise would have been "speak to a solicitor" and given in a very demeaning way, because they're far too important to have to deal with people like you who don't know that the police are there for important things.

Whether you think that's right or not is not yours to question, because that's also covered by them doing important things.

That's the wonderful British police for you. Now off you go, and continue to think of them as the indispensable institution which stops this country falling into anarchy.

Just because you've had bad experiences with the police doesn't mean everyone has.

Plus, I wasn't exactly going to dial 999 for this now was I?! There are other people working in police stations and for police besides police officers.

Anyway, I've had my money back. Anyone in similar situations should just keep bugging them and my advice would be to threaten them with taking it further (whether you mention police or solicitor but police worked for me).

I dont think they have any alterier motives - I think they're just a but flakey. They do need to sort it tho - no wonder they were short on stewards for SGP this year. They will have one less next year too.

(see my previous post in reply to TGT, if that's what drove your comments).

If your experience of them is different, then it's a very easy assumption to make that you're simply experiencing the standard misogynist and sexist operation of the old bill.

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
