To be honest, if Pearl Jam play any UK fest next year I reckon it'll be R&L...

They probably are, but that's exactly the point - I'm not suggesting that these people actually know or like the bands, but given that they are mass-produced, sold in high street shops and worn as fashion accessories means that their name is going to be out there more than most other bands. It doesn't mean that their music is known amongst the youth or that they have a great deal of fans but it means there's a good chance they will have more of a presence in the conciousness of mainstream teens.

It's much more likely that Vodafone had seen the fake poster and believed it. If we didn't already know the headliners for next years Glastonbury then I'd say they were more likely for Glastonbury than Download.

They've been 'nailed on' for every Download for as long as I can remember - I get the feeling they no longer wish to play 'rock' festivals or they would have surely played there or even Soni. Also if Nickelback are headlining as is widely speculated now, then PJ don't fit.
