Sure I've read they have free water fountains so you can keep hydrated, never used these so not 100% sure.

One thing to remember is it can get very hot and the bands finish later than UK fests. Don't over do it and be knackered for the headliners, that's what I do but im an old geezer...

Keep hydrated and have lots of bottled water wink wink.

Can't remember if there were or not. I know in the campsites all there was was non-drinking water at the wash stations, so I drank that all the time. I think there may have been free water fountains in the arena.

its cold at night, its whens the sun comes up in the morning, just get out the tent asap, into some shade. Also getting into the arena when the first popular band is about to come on is a nightmare, I was wrecked a couple of years ago spent over an hour queuing to get in, sun on my face and 35 degrees plus.

you wont need wellies, and probably not even a raincoat. Doesn't rain much

If you don't mind me asking, what would you say is the best way to combat the heat thetime? I've heard of so many accounts of people waking up in the morning/early afternoon covered in sweat because its so hot out. I don't agree with the heat at the best of times let alone in a tent, I'll roast quite quickly!

Wellies are indeed not needed, even if it rains all weekend the field won't turn into a mud pool. I'd still check the weather forecast right before you leave though, you might need a raincoat/poncho after all (it's still unpredictable Belgium).

I took no wellies; I'm not carrying them from England ffs. They're not needed at all. Only annoying thing is that the wash area gets sloppy as fuck on the ground, but within 5 minutes your feet will be bone dry again.

I don't think the heat is a problem at werchter as the crowd is so chilled, its not like reading for example where the crushing can have you fighting for oxygen.

the tents can get pretty hot, and the sun is a factor at the main stage til 7-8

but yeah the laid back nature is cool, id like a bit more of a party after the bands somewhere though

Anyone going with the planet festival company from the uk mainly from Liverpool my mates all decided to pull out after I bought my ticket so that means I'm going by my self ?

Aside from waking up in the heat, the most annoying thing is that the sun is behind the main stage all day, so it's constantly in your eyes unless you pick a good spot. Make sure you take sunglasses.

Also completely out of curiosity, would the werchter organisers have booked all the spots by now and are just slowing adding various names week-by-week, or would they still be negotiating with bands for spots?

And where are the rock acts! This is supposed to be ROCK Werchter..
