TW Classic in werchter put its timetable up earlier this week, does this mean Rock Werchter will come soon/this week?

God damn. Open'er has just announced Jack White as a headliner and its the same bloody weekend as RW. We could have had him!! >

Why have rock werchter missed out on jack white, him subbing Friday or Sunday would have been brilliant and easily doable. Announcing him for the Friday would sell it out finally too.

Oh i didn't think it was, don't think I've seen an official announcement but it could be sold out, haven't actually checked. It won't happen as they've said they have released the full lineup which is annoying because there was obviously a chance of booking him. Bit gutting really.

Might be a bit like arctic monkeys last year, they wanted to headline werchter but they couldn't offer them that(that was the rumour anyway).

Perhaps he will do the same and headline next year.

Pop music is not really my thing....I really hate this brainless pop-crap. It's not music, it's just crap

But the list of good bands that RW decided not to sign for one reason or another is getting quite long:

Bad Religon

Offspring

Faith no More

Wolfmother

Deftones

Imagine Friday with FNM subbing and Offspring, Deftones and Bad Religon also on the bill. Sunday with Soundgarden subbing with Alice in Chains and Wolfmother also on the bill. It would be the best RW lineup for me since I started going six yeas ago

Offspring Groezrock headliners never played Werchter in the same year

Faith no More They tried to book FNM in 2010 to sub Muse or Pearl Jam, but they only want headline spots.

Just to say that it isn't always the organisers fault + again, they're involved in Graspop as well so they can't snatch away too many hard acts either.

Although I think bands have been taken away from Rock Werchter by other festivals I think they've missed out on a few as Gossard said like Faith No More, Deftones and Jack White which are around and not playing any Belgium festivals. I don't think they can do much about getting the likes of The Offspring who are playing a Belgium festival that they're more suited too higher than they would at Rock Werchter, for the band that's a no brainer.

@Gossard I know what you're saying but I don't think that is always the case and if it was for these bands to be honest the festivals they'll be playing higher up at would be able to offer them one of the highest pay out of the lineup budget and a high slot where RW won't have as much in the budget so may not be willing to go higher and even if they did they wouldn't be ridiculous with it and be a poor slot so a band may go for the higher slot with a bit less money.

the bigger mistake RW did this year is without a doubt... missing The Rolling stones on the line up instead of let them to Werchter Classic...

... I know the money factor, but come on! The Stones would have been the point an anniversary needs

Business wise it makes more sense for them to play tw classic though so you can't expect that... the rest of the lineup would have suffered too.

Not a fan of acts like Rolling Stones, U2 on a festival lineup. The festival would be just full of fans just for that specific act.

Is Ellie Goulding still rumoured to be subbing?
