Everyone saying that Rock Werchter missed out on The Rolling Stones is untrue as dietediet says. It is just makes better business sense. It may not be the best Rock Werchter lineup but it has 5 headline bands playing in Metallica, KOL, Pearl Jam, AM and The Black Keys which is pretty good going by most standards and if TRS were playing we'd have about 2 headline worthy bands and the undercard would have suffered even more.

In my opinion, the over all line up this year is better than last year. Sure there were "bigger" acts playing last year but going through the clashfinder there are only 20-odd acts I'd want to see, compared to 35-40 I'd like to see/check out this year. Obviously this isn't taking in stage clashes and I'm aware I'm not going to see 40 bands over the weekend. Obviously big headline names make it special (Pearl Jam and Placebo are major talking points for me) but I think the under card is just as important and I'm happy with the bookings (For example I'd rather see Royal Blood or Oscar & The Wolf opening a stage than some shit like Paramore or Linkin Park subbing).

The only thing RW can do that would piss me off is if they schedule Pixies and Pearl Jam to clash.

Just starting to check through the bands that I don't know. First up was Reignwolf, then Royal Blood. That is now 2 more bands than I thought I'd be seeing yesterday. This could get messy as hell with clashes, I've never wanted to see so many bands at a festival in my life.

For me, it's all about the big bands. The smaller once that I might like are just a cool bonus.

BUT, I can't change the line-up so from now on I'll try to be positive. It doesn't mean that I like the line-up, it's just no point crying about it for too long. It's not the best line-up(actually, Thursday and Saturday are VERY good), but it's still gonna be a blast. And I agree with Mushy25, both Royal Blood and Reignwolf is something I'm gonna see :)

Agreed with Gossard it's all about the big bands, Metallica, Placebo, Pearl Jam, Pixies are my most looking forward too. Just hoping Pixies don't clash, if I can watch Pixies but miss the first couple of Pearl Jam so be it and I'd probably do that. shame they aren't on at the same time as Arctic's, not alot going on that day, even with smaller acts!

For other clashes hoping White Lies play main stage as I don't want to miss them and if they're in the barn they'll be the same time as Metallica or Placebo.

Smaller bands that will be a good watch will be Royal Blood and Crystal Fighters for me. Reignwolf seems cool too. Not too many other smaller ones I'm loving the sound of.

As for 2015 think it'll be something along the lines of:

Foo Fighters

Coldplay

Queens of the Stone Age

Arcade Fire

That's pretty good news then. I'm so used to T in the park and Reading actually giving you the stage splits but almost having to wait until the day of the festival to see the times. Do they sell land yards at rock werchter even though the times will be known well in advance? Would just be a good souvenir

    • Avril gets above GC on rarity (see Cypress Hill this year). She drew in something like 70,000 at Glastonbury, so much so that they had to close the field off. I’d wager that she would get the biggest crowd of the entire weekend if she was to play DL.
    • We've reasonably predicted/wanted a bill of Blink, Avril, Good Charlotte for a while 😅    I'm surprised that Good Charlotte's UK shows in November seem to be doing well atm... obviously if they sell out those venues then they should be subheadliners right? (if they play download that is). They'd only look a strong sub if it was before Blink though I rekn.

    • Well Jason Isbell is on blistering form for this run of European gigs, wonderful night in Bristol
    • I am also interested in this. I was looking for past years, and it looks like it has a limited capacity.  I would love to see Ela Minus, but I guess I won't be able to make it in time, unfortunately.
