I think it's more to do with NIN playing an arena show in belguim a month before werchter which will probably rule them out. Although saying that I think the national played an arena show a month or so before werchter this year.

NIN don't have a Spanish date on there tour, so perhaps that's why they are doing the festival show.

Anyway, any chance of Neutral Milk Hotel? Playing European festivals in June and August, though, so maybe doing two stints at the beginning and end of Summer.

Yeah I returned after The National to see Bloc Party and Sigur Ros. Spent the majority of Bloc Party's set trying to get into the tent.

I can see both, that was my first thought when I heard about the co-tour, with both having played the festival before. Royksopp would be great as an early evening KluB C act, and Robyn is popular anough to sub The Barn.

Also, The Black Keys; Foals and MGMT are doing a Dutch festival exactly one week before RW. I'd say 99% for all three.

Has anyone here ever traveled from the UK? Just me and my friends were wondering if anyone knew any cheap(ish) ways to get there, just every UK festival seems to repeat it's line-up, we fancy a change, and I think we're pretty settled on Werchter, can anyone recommend it?

Next year will be my 5th on the trot and is easy to get to from the UK.

Eurostar the easiest london - Brussels, although the coach is the cheapest.

I've done the couch a couple of times, coming back is murder after 5 days camping though.

Highly recommended.

last year i stayed in brussels the day before and after werchter and flew from edinburgh

i can honestly say it was probably on about 150 quid more than t in the park usually costs me.

couldnt imagine going straight home after it, hell.

we're actually thinking of staying in brussels longer this year afterwards

Does the fact they've already made an announcement today mean Pearl Jam are less likely to be announced today?

I expect their to be an announcement wednesday, thurs & friday again this week. Just as that seems to be the trend with their announcements and they have 3 acts on each day now bar sunday so could see 2 getting announced tomorrow!

No and yes.

My guess is that whoever headlines on Saturday won't be announced soon, and they're giving us pretty big names (Pixies, Black Keys) to keep us occupied. Only having FF on Sunday makes me expect a closing headliner for that day soon.

Well, the Royksopp-Robyn combo is that 'bomb' Northside was talking about. Now I can certainly see both of them doing Werchter.

And Pixies will indeed be Barn material. It'd suit their music better than Main Stage anyway.
