And the heavens have just opened, hail and sleet!

Come on Weather Gods, get it out of your system now.

My daughters might be taking it for the team, as they are supposed to be doing a timed fastest lap of the school field for Sport Relief today.

I used to spend many a weekend up in Leeds on the Otley Run. I have very fond memories of the place. I have an even fonder memory of being thrown out of the members box at Hedingley. I have no interest in sport it's just that they used to serve alcohol when the pubs had to stop serving on the Sunday afternoon (many years ago now). Anyway two of my friends decided it was boring so set fire (dramatically so) to their own hair and just sat there watching the game with their heads appearing to be on fire. This old buffer in a blazer went mental and through us out of there.

I've got the house to myself apart from 2 Labradors and 2 daughters. Managed to watch a film but instead of it being blood and guts as I planned (my other isn't keen on those), I ended up with a robbery comedy that she would have loved. Oh well.

    • Hot on the heels of outdoor gig number 1, the second arrived quickly! Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in Malahide last night (lovely sunny evening for it!). As usual, fantastic gig (ebbed and flowed from tender to feral). Since they aren't touring an album it was very different to the Wild God shows from last year, with a bunch of tracks that hadn't been played in a good while wheeled out. Highlights for me were a blistering rendition of Hiding All Away (that merged into the end of White Elephant) and a touching interpretation of A Rainy Night in Soho to close the set (well after curfew!). @Superscally, still nothing from Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! (they really must not like that album!)
    • I’m putting the 2026 code and it’s not applying the discount. Does somebody know why?
    • I think I’ve asked this before, but do we know why this is a ‘never happen’ one? I understand with Queen and Duran Duran, but I’ve never seen anything written saying one way or another if they’d do it. Would be an incredible get.
    • Here we goooo!   I never thought I'd say this at Prima Porto, famous for its rainy weather... I wish it'd be a bit colder ;D
    • I saw an interview the other day with Simon and he was asked about Glastonbury legends spot and he did say they consider themselves headliners and also said something like "The legends slot is a kind of headline slot" The actual wording might be slightly different but it gave an indication that maybe?
