I thought it was a very poor performance but in the context of a league game it would have been another 3 points.

Ahhh, blinded over the other match I see. :lol:

A draw over 210 minutes in two matches against relegation fodder. This tyhe level that Utd are playing at.

(yes, it was a second string, I know - a 2nd string of half the first team).

Your right Mata isn't the answer on his own, however I think his signing will give the other players a boost, like the ozil one did at arsenal, despite many thinking he wasn't a priority. I would have thought man u would buy again this window, but with the lack of availability it may be 6 months too late.

A very good and improving team team have got a very minor boost via a major signing.

A very poor and not improving team will get a massive boost via a major signing? I think not. :)

I thought they did okay, Sunderland had one weak shot all game.

I didn't watch the match, but was reading a number of comments in different places by those who were.

And I didn't see any comment by a Utd fan which was as blinkered as your own take on the game.

The general agreement was that while Utd were the better team, they defo didn't do 'OK'.

and the quality of the performances? Still shite.

(BTW, I've watched more Utd [and Arsenal] games than I have liverpool games this season, which I guess makes me the world's oddest Liverpool fan?)

Utd will win some games. Against the weaker sides they'll bang in a few goals with top strikers such as Rooney and RVP.

What they have on the pitch has not been good at all tho. If you've not noticed that you need to retune your TV to a channel that's not re-running matches from last season.

It's all part of Moyes cunning plan.

By making them look so pathetic and wretched, they let better clubs like Chelsea sell their good players to them, thinking that they won't be a threat. And then, they turn around and get the good results in.

Also, they meant to lose last night, so that they don't have to go to a pointless cup final. Ok, Moyes was excited about havign a team play in Wembley, but still. I imagine they'll concede in the Champions League shortly for the same reason.

I reckon Moyes is a BlueNose "Once a blue, always a blue" and has decided it's time one of the other big clubs experiences a Peter Johnson scenario.

It's part of a seret plan years in the making - next up Rooney fails to find any form at all, revealing his true colours and they get relegated, twice and join League One with Tranmere Rovers.

''A drunk Manchester United fan dialled 999 and demanded to speak to Sir Alex Ferguson after the Reds' defeat last night. Police received the bizarre and amusing call at 10.30pm on Wednesday from a man in Crumpsall, north Manchester. Moments earlier, United were dumped out of the league cup in dramatic fashion by Sunderland, who won 2-1 on penalties after extra time. The distressed supporter demanded to speak to former Reds' boss Sir Alex to discuss the result.

'Greater Manchester Police released a statement on their GMP Manchester North Facebook page on Thursday morning which read: "Last night, at approximately 10.30pm a man from the Crumpsall area of north Manchester rang 999 in a drunken state demanding to speak to Sir Alex Ferguson about last night's result.

'"Obviously, it can be a sad and depressing moment when you're football team loses a game, however can we all please remember that 999 is to be used for emergencies only. For any other police related enquiries that are not an emergency, you can ring 101. If you would like to speak to Sir Alex about recent football results we here at GMP Manchester North can only suggest you try ringing Manchester United FC directly as you will probably (not definitely) have a much better chance of getting through to him there rather than ringing the police." - Manchester Evening News.'

      It was great, but I don't know why they continue to play Wide Lovely Eyes and Rings of Saturn, which are the weakest of the tracks off both PTSA and ST. Well, I do. It's cos they're about Suzie, so he can sing what he wants. They're the low points of the set. The rest is ace.

      I didn't this time, but I've seen them before and just because you saw both that night doesn’t mean you can compare them. The Stones were great, but.you didn't think so and you went somewhere else looking for a good time and you found it. For whatever reason you didn't like it, but you were an outlier and all the reviews said they were great.

      If the below link works - thats interesting.   While I don't particularly put much stock in that account as a source (never seen it before though, tbf), and I can pick a hole or two (see below) in what he says - the timing of it is a week before I had the Fontaines '27 stadium info (same stadium he says on there, Tottenham). The info, or part of it, matches up.   Holes I'd pick: I'd have to watch again but I THINK he says 'end of year' for Tottenham - not possible, for a number of reasons, though he's probably just got his words mixed up there. It's Summer '27, or that's what I've been told. He also says Glastonbury is/would be based on how the album does. That doesn't stack up to me, unless it was a 2028 thing. I suppose that could stack up, i.e a verbal agreement for 2028, but still seems a bit of an odd approach. I would personally still expect it to be 2027 alongside the stadium gigs, IF they are gonna do it, though I've still not got a Scooby when the album is gonna drop, only that the tour is due for Spring (or early) next year.   Interesting, nonetheless.   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOB3Q9qkwW/
