Strategies for surviving the 5 days

Normally I take it easy Wednesday night. My normal rule is to gradually build up to a massive sat night and take it easy on the Sunday. By this stage a lack of sleep and a few days on it is enough to make Sunday pretty special

This year going with my best mate who's never been and the temptation to get leathered on the tues night is pretty strong

My question is.. How do you pace yourself for 5 days of partying??

I also have style to not get messy until it gets dark. Gurning around the pyramid fri afternoon is not a good luck when your pushing 40 :-)

Forget pacing, it only comes around once a year. This isn't a standard all-day Saturday session with your mates, this is Glastonbury.

Get absolutely ruined, worry about it for a couple of hours the next morning, have two disgusting beers until it evens out, repeat!

I like your style. Getting out the tent is the hardest thing. Once the main stages start pumping it out I'm normally on my 3rd pint of the day :-)

last year on the way to Bestival me and my friend were keying MDMA the entire coach journey - from 3.30pm on the Tuesday until 7.30am on the Wednesday, and then continued when arriving at the festival. THAT was stupid. but i see no reason for pacing. it's just five days. you'll feel absolutely run down and like shit come Monday, but... who cares. Glastonbury comes but once a year and i intend to enjoy it as much as possible, and unfortunately for me, alcohol and drugs boost enjoyment tenfold. just as long as you know your limit as to not end up a shivering drooling mess on the floor with people looking after you. just get as much sleep as possible, get at least one big meal a day, and get right back on it when you wake up to try and avoid the oncoming pains

Don't try and hold out, ultimately you'll splurge, if you wanna get trashed on Tuesday with your mate then do it! You'll have a blast.

Can of coke, salt and vinegar crisps and a banana, you'll be fitting fit!

At my age, hangovers are cured by only one thing, codeine and strong pick me up!!

Yes I love my food as well and looking after myself with two kids to go home to is no 1 priority. The days of my youth partying for days on end have long gone. Saying that the thurs night with Arcadia, vision quest, Greg wilson amd TEED at the beat hotel and DIY at the NYC downlow are going to ruin me!

A decent bed so what little sleep you get is comfortable.

Lots of water when you go to bed and a Brufen (anti inflammatory) tablet which can help reduce hang overs.

Good coffee in the morning and a fry up.
