I think it will be Avicii doing the MTV headline slot, but as he isnt at T (yet) and Alesso and Steve are maybe it will be a repeat booking of Steve and Alesso do the other day headline Arena, with Nile Rodgers doing MTV stage.

If Chic headline a stage it'll be the Arena.

Arena won't be too small.

Majority of the punters will be too shallow to go anywhere other the main stage pop headliner or MTV dance/'indie' headliner. The crowd at the arena will be barren if Chic play, and the only people there are the only people I want to associate with at V.

In the words of Ja'mie King; 'Sorry, but it's true'

I wouldnt say too shallow, they just know what they like and know what they have payed for. But I do agree the majority of people would be at the two top stages

God, Prodigy just sound so dated to me.

Saw Muse (who i hate) over them in 2008, and saw someone else over them whatever other year they headlined the second stage.

Is dated such a bad thing? They can still pull a crowd in and apparently still entertaining

Depends what you like. But I cringe every time I hear Breathe or Smack my bitch up. Some of Invaders must die (I think that's the album title) sounds alright

Ive never seen them live, but my girlfriend has and she thought they were pretty good. If they were on 2nd stage against JT then I think we would be seeing them

Hi guys, there is a gig review thread on the Reading and Leeds forum for acts that have been announced (to give people an impression of what they are like)

Would anyone who went to V last year be willing to come give a short (really just a few lines) on how Courteeners were last year (or if you have seen them at their own gig) :D

Steve won't be back surely..headlined last year, I'd be so angry if a headliner played two years running

I doubt steve would be back, but if he is I wouldnt be angry

If matt says they are doing reading then thats pretty much them definate for V festival. Good news

Here's hoping! ;)

I'm gonna predict it to look like this

Justin Timberlake Jay Z

Ed Sheeran Pharrell Williams

Lilly Allen Bastille

Chase & Status Steve Angello & Alesso

Would be very very happy with that.. Not long to go now

Courteeners were effing amazing. Most of the crowd were seeing The Script, so they had a small crowd! But they nailed it. Great last two songs of not 19 forever and What took you so long.

All the other key songs in about a 10-12 song set with some of the new singles. Easily top 3 acts of the weekend with Travis and Stereophonics.

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
    • Beartooth? Or are they a bit to shouty shouty
