Grant not playing the Pyramid for cursing would be a weak ass reason. I cant imagine it would be a consideration at all. The booker is either considering him or not and i doubt his lyrics come into it

Is there anything in the rumors that he is playing the fest other than Emily's tweet? What sort of info has him listed as an "R"

long as he's at End Of The Road he can do what he likes

and i'm pretty sure he will be. He's a regular down at Larmer Tree Gardens.

You in for next year, Scottie? We've got our earlybird tickets. My favourite festival, i think.

EOTR is lovely, Mardy, but your sig shows a conspicuous absence of visits to Green Man. If End of the Road is your 'favourite festival, I think', then this omission in your festival portfolio is a serious error! Resolve that, and you may re-evaluate your favourite!

yeah, i'm sure you're right. Every year i look at the lineup for green man and drool at the bands they get, and i've heard nothing but good things about it.

The problem is twofold though, i'm at the other end of the country and getting there on public transport looks like a right ballache (please don’t diagnose that, doc), but more pertinently, festivals for me are a social occassion and none of my friends ever seem up for it.

Living abroad, i don't get to see my mates or family often enough really, and as we get older, and real life intrudes more and more, Glastonbury and EOTR are really the only chance we have to sit around, catch up, talk shite and laugh uproariously together. Or get drunk on gin and offer proclamations of love. Whatever.

So, shallow as it may be, It's true for me to say that i'm more interested in which of my friends are coming than any of the bands. EOTR strikes that perfect balance between having a lineup of bands i want to see, and the music I love but at the same time giving us time to sit and spend time with each other.

Now, if only i could persuade them all to try green man one year...

That's not in anyway shallow, Mardy.

Festivals are my favourite place on Earth. The one place I feel completely true to myself, away from the imposed (and accepted, admittedly) constraints of normal life. However, my experiences there are much less intense when I go on my own, and I've done that a few times. The most fun has always been with other people, especially my gig/festival buddy Phil who, sadly, continues to kindly decline my pleas for him to come to Glastonbury...

A huge part of why they mean so much to me is that sense of community that comes from a shared experience, so I understand your feelings entirely. I only hope that your useless friends are eventually persuaded to travel with you to that magical weekend in the Brecon Beacons...

I saw him live last November with a symphony orchestra and he played a good chunk of these songs then. None of them really made an impression, but I figured that they'd bed in a bit better in their recorded versions. But...not really.

I quite like Down Here though.

I saw him with the orchestra last autumn too and the show was fabulous (great acoustics in Birmingham Town Hall) and he played at least four new songs, all of which I thought sounded hugely promising at the time. Haven't heard the new record yet, but on the basis of that gig I'm awfully disappointed, since many people whose opinions I value are a bit negatory regarding its merits. Still, open mind until I get to hear it for myself...

    • Skylink is 24 hours... But the skylink will drop you off at Pegasus business Park or EMA (East Midlands Airport) where you'll have to use the Download shuttle link, which isn't 24 hours. The last shuttle from the Download transport hub to EMA is 12:15 TrentBarton / Local bus info here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/download2026   Skylink Derby / Leicester / Loughborough timetable here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/services/skylinkderby  Shuttle timetable here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/userfiles/hotel.pdf If you miss the shuttle, which is very doubtful, you'll just have to find another way to EMA / Pegasus business park, maybe a taxi. You could even walk to EMA from the Download transport hub, wouldn't take too long. Just make sure you use the airport's 'circular path' instead of the dangerous roads.  I walk the circular path often, it's nice and easy. I would post instructions but I very much doubt you'll miss the shuttle, and if you do, it isn't hard to work out. The footpath is clearly signposted from directly opposite / across the road from where the download map has labelled "Pickup and Drop Off Exit."
    • So for Harry Styles it was actually a plastic bag that basically blocks the view of the front and back cameras. You can still use the phone screen. It's much easier than using lockers, especially for people leaving for the last train etc    I think it's basically reliant on the threat of security kicking you out if you start filming.
    • Hey, does anybody have a joining link for the WhatsApp group plz? I know the secret sets get posted there but have a new phone and number
