3rd Headliner

I do agree, but it seems like dance music has already had a lot of focus this year. The Knife, Disclosure, DJ Fresh, Hot Natured, Rudimental, Jagwa Ma... then there's the massive line up on the Port & the cruising stuff just announced. That's without mentioning the cross over acts like James Blake, Jessie Ware, Is Tropical, M.I.A & even Snoop to an extent.

In my opinion it could do with a more rock/indie based headliner, someone like the Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend or if we're going for totally random the Pixies. I fear it will be Chase & Status though, aghh well, plenty of other places to be on the Friday night.

It was 2010 and Sonisphere was 60k so same sort of size as bestival.

Placebo got and tiny crowd at Reading 2009 playing 3rd.

Really don't think they are a headline band anymore. I would say if flaming lips can't headline than neither can placebo

If there's one "extravaganza" I'd like as headliner, it's Major Lazer with loads of guests.

I know they played last year, and probably aren't big enough to headline, but they're friends of the festival, they're playing almost everywhere else this year, and they're SO much fun.

Major Lazer would be fucking brilliant actually. Flaming Lips followed by them would be worth the ticket price alone.

(Am I right in thinking the Lips are playing main stage on the Friday night or am I completely making that up?)

    • I wouldn’t be surprised if it was £425.  If I recall there was a significant jump about 10 years ago and with the prices of gigs significantly inflating in the last couple of years I can see another big jump coming.
    • I think they are just sold out ..... I find it highly unlikely that the entire arena wouldn't go on sale for a band the size of muse straight away.   Theres also some in those blocks on sale on resale sites
    • Personally, I do hope Fontaines headline next year. Feels like it's their time in terms of the contemporary element - I know 2028 could equally be but I think (and speaking as an old git) they are probably the most significant band to emerge for a good few years, and they've already accumulated 4 great albums, let alone adding 5th, to field a memorable setlist.

    • Alright fair, I thought she only did BST once. Though I do question how that type of pop show will translate to a stadium.
