Yes. Get excited now. Of all the forecasts present and future, even though there are hundred more to go before the festival, this is the one to place all your bets on.

*rolleyes*

The story remains that it's not looking too bad, anything more specific will be wrong in some detail.

Latest Met Office forecast :-

  • UK forecast

    Day 6 to 30

UK Outlook for Wednesday 19 Jun 2013 to Friday 28 Jun 2013:-

Most areas dry and bright with light winds and the odd shower on Wednesday, although cloudier conditions with outbreaks of rain are likely to arrive in northwest Scotland later. Cloud and rain across northwestern parts are likely to gradually edge southeastwards through Thursday, but become increasingly light and patchy. The far southeast of England is also at risk of some more persistent rain for a time on Thursday. Daytime temperatures generally near normal, possibly warm across southeastern parts. The changeable theme then continues into the weekend and thereafter, with showers or spells of more persistent rain interspersed with drier, brighter interludes. Southern and eastern areas probably seeing the best of the fine and warmer spells, whilst northwestern areas have periods of more persistent rain, windy conditions and nearer normal temperatures.

UK Outlook for Saturday 29 Jun 2013 to Saturday 13 Jul 2013:-

Indications currently show that the weather is likely to stay rather changeable from the end of June and through into the first part of July, with westerly winds allowing weather systems to push in from the Atlantic, bringing spells of rain at times. Conditions will generally be more unsettled towards the northwest of the UK, with the best of the drier and brighter periods in the south and east. Temperatures are likely to be a little below average for the time of year, especially in western parts, whereas rainfall amounts look to be close to average in most places.

To clarify the history a tad here.

The NFR NFC trope is a ruder and slightly changed!! version of my very own 'No Rain No Mud No Compromise' slogan (c. W of W) that became widely shared on here among us pre-Glasto weather obsessives far back as, I think, the build up to 2008. I started it as a throwaway '2007? No, Never Again' slogan ....

    • Very quiet in here at the moment.....again.   I hate this time as other festivals start and we see who Sziget should've booked 🤣   The Cure knocking it out of the park once again at Primavera showed that they have fans of all ages and, even if it's felt they don't represent the direction Sziget is going in, they would've been a huge draw.   Ditto The XX, who I've never been a massive fan of tbh, but put me in my place at Primavera with a cracking set.

    • Yeah, I feel like people are really overlooking just how fantastic Simple Minds are. ABC have a classic 80s new wave album behind them as well.   That being said, yeah it's not worth travelling for. But it's a lineup I would be happy with if it were local to me
    • On the Wet Leg crowd - the opening day always has the worst crowd of the festival. A lot of locals show up purely because it's a cheap evening, often with not much interest in the acts performing, so, while the talking is an issue throughout the festival (and increasingly at gigs/fests everywhere) it's particularly rough on the Wednesday every year. I'll only bother next year if I really like the act playing.  The wristband is basically a souvenir these days, which I like, as I keep them. Also I guess for the festival it's kind of cheap advertising as people walk around the city with them on.
