they could just be playing a mammoth show. Their staple center show (the one that was filmed) was 77 minutes for 14 songs which are shown on youtube. that was half their setlist for the night (28 songs), with their other setlists for the tour generally being at least 24 songs long. thats close to a 3 hour show. if they play that sort of length, we are in for a treat

Err, I can never remember how it works & always get confused with Brum but I think it was about 10-15 mins following Frank Turner and I was reasonably close to the front.

You'll be fine getting to the bus station once you're out though, it's less than a five minute walk

a minute tops if you're at the back.

besides I reckon the place will be half empty - standing and seating still on sale on the arena website, and same for see & tm.

Will - who did you get that email off as I've had nothing like that. either way I'll still be there

so no problems getting out.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, I've just found out that both my mates have double booked for next Saturday, and so have both pulled out on me :/ So if anyone fancies meeting up in Notts before the gig, I'm open to suggestions. Also got two tickets to get rid of if anyone's interested?

There isn't any chance of me escaping the gig without finding out the Champions League score, is there? I hope I can, and then watch it when I'm home (I know my life's sad I post on festival forums). Then again, last time I did this was with the England vs Italy Euro match in 2012, and was the worst thing I ever did.

Thing is, by the time they come on at 9 I'll probably have heard the score mentioned, and after the gig I don't really wanna bring headphones with me to put in. Maybe I'll sit alone somewhere until they come on and then sprint off screaming as soon as they finish.

well it will only be in the 2nd half by then, and its quite difficult getting internet in there that works well (without paying for their wifi). besides its pretty easy to avoid peoples conversations especially if there's as much space as i think there will be.

tickets were around £35 for standing plus fees if i remember correctly ;)

    • They are going to have Blink 182 for sure, early June upto around Werchter weekend I'd say for them. Two of Sweden Rock,  Greenfield and RFP are going to miss out.
    • I've come across a few this weekend saying Deftones aren't big enough for Download.   I would recommend b&b hotel hbf the night before....cheap, comfortable and very decent. Within 10 minutes from the station and a tram stop outside to jump on...all travel is free during the festival time as well with a kombi. Lidl is very good and cheap I can't lie....€6 for a chair with carey handle, €20 with a bag too...you can work that out yourself.   If you camp, get up at 5am and go to the queue....literally don't question it as now I know.     The travel wise part is easy when you get the hang of it and I've never had an easier exit from a festival today tbh. We were camped in the turn left section but past the registration and to get water you have to come right out.   Opening up an exit through he camp at least by Friday morning when everyobe is there would be much better but you csnt walk through general if you're green and sonon.   I think the issue for me probably too is I have never taken like a mutliple litre water too, I've always done a 6 pack water from like poundland lol but you definitely need it. I had one shower that was cold lol   Talking of getting into the front, Volbeat was the only easy one, for Maiden and especially Linkin Park if you weren't in the queue for it by at least the last quarter ot Architects you had no hope....it was shocking. I do like orbit to sit down. I had to decide to sack off Within Temptation too or no chance.   Second stage biggest gripe is the faff of walking all the way round when VIP or whatever it is literally get access to each bit. I did read tbh before going people though RIP/Ring was turning too much the wrong way.   Also as a side note, caught some of Limp Bizkit last night too and they are not headliner but any distance at all. Yes they pull a crowd...they would do with LP finished but on the grand scale its a super weak booking. Stop, start for video recordings all the way through a headline set?, 1hr 15 minutes and you can't play for that time. I'm so glad they were not chosen to headline main.   On another thing, if RIP played it right they'll get GC and Avril to sub/second stage headline on the Blink day.   Toilets and cleanliness is a big plus I will say that.
    • Any of the likes of Keo, Basht. and Cardinals could all fit in here.  Although they’re the sort of bands that could fit many of the stages at Glastonbury
    • Glasto loves a come back act - how about the Rapture?
    • Yeah mentioned in the park thread but feel more Woodsies to me
