Festival stereotypes :-)

Just a bit of fun, but the v thread below has got me thinking. Lots of festivals have their perceived audience stereotypes - which can often be healthily debated. Now I am not a fan of stereotypes - infact I detest them, but am interested in what people perception is of various festivals.

V festival - chavvy orange kids

Glastonbury - aged hippies

Mmmm does that make me a chavvy orange aged hippie fairy ?

Reading: ladz in superdry checked shirts drinking jager bombs taking what they think is mdma but is actually paracetamol.

IOW: men who are going to "AVE IT" and still take speed.

Boomtown: every single person I went to uni with. Middle class "alt" types who have art degrees and are on the dole.

Green man: private school kids in J crew.

Download: pale teenage acting types (even if they are 40) in large groups, there to lose their virginity while wearing all black in blazing heat.

Glastonbury: dirty "thinkers" who always talk about the good old days when you got free milk. Abundance of Kate Moss wannabies who haven't eaten in a month.

Field day: bloggers.

Camp Bestival camping area - A middle class refuge camp.

I actually saw one woman standing next to her tent in the whitest of dressing gowns and a white towel round her head clutching a hair dryer, with a look on her face that she really hadn't thought this through.

I go to Download every year and you have described me and about a third of the crowd, one of the main changes i have noticed is the amount of girls and women with more piercings and tattoos than the men. More 40-55 age group who have started their career before having kids. Don't forget Mr.Tumble.

Kendal Calling - thieving Scouse and Manc scum, dealing ketamine as a sideline whilst waiting to rob your tent

Nozstock - gangs of kids called Olivia and Charlie doing Noz all day until Andy C comes on at 0300 whilst ignoring the rest of the bands

Green Man - wannabe hippies and the confused middle class who desperately want to be able to say they have attended a festival

Croissant Neuf - entire crowd wasted but happy

Standon Calling - posh London awayday

Farmfest - Mainly Somerset

Glasto - White middle class

Latitude, expensively dressed guardian reader from home counties suburbs, taking their two children Milly and Oscar for a weekend off private school to soak up some real culture yah.

One of the reasons I love Latitude, people I met assumed I was hard because of my (rather mild) manc accent. Not a single person has ever assumed I was hard before.
