Apparently they got booked to Azkena Rock Festival (spain) and was announced today, on the friday (28/6). That makes it a 2 day window till the already booked gigs on 1/7 and 2/7 and will eliminate them from a potential clash with AM.

So if they play it would be vs: (current general prediction)

Rolling Stones, I assume that Glasto wants a more modern rock act if it isnt a pop/dance one to go against the stones??? (for example 2009 Neil Young vs Bloc Party, Bruce vs Franz Ferdinand)

Gaga, will mean they play 3 nights in a row, which they will do in july (20,21,22) and they're also playing 5 gigs in 6 days between june 20 and 25. It would also be a more heavy option to the pop act on pyramid.

i'd say it's a lot more likely for the Sunday then. doing three days in a row doesn't seem like a problem for them so it can easily be done. they can hardly be considered a 'modern' act in the vein of Bloc Party or Franz Ferdinand - they're pretty old themselves

They've had three years, two EPs and one album to gel together as a band since this was filmed.

Other Stage headliners on the Sunday is looking very likely. Even the one-day break between the Spanish festival and the Sunday suggests that it's happening! Never know though, Sigur Ros were 'nailed on' before they denied it!

Now all we need is Portishead to come back from Italy to play the Friday night! (Though four nights running is unlikely)

it looks like the sunday could potentially happen. if it does, ill be keeping an eye on their setlists from the festivals they play just before as im interested in watching them but im not the biggest fan and would only really be interested in a greatest hits set.

that's the set they played at the last festival they played at, and whilst it's quite Oceania heavy, most of the hits are there (the opening three of Zero, Bullet and Today is just ridiculously good) and 1979. i'd be pissed if they didn't play that to be honest. here's hoping for something similar

at their own shows they tend to play Oceania in full it seems, but i'm sure they understand that a festival doesn't want to see that, and wants the singles

So they've announced UK dates starting on 1st July, The Monday after Glastonbury! I'd say that's pretty much rules them in.

Monday 1st July - Manchester Academy

Tuesday 2nd July - O2 academy Glasgow

id be happy enough with that setlist. id watch them on that, the opening half is great. i have no idea on the songs from 15 onwards though so would rather the set be re-arranged so its back to front, but obviously thats just me being picky. if they are announced ill give oceania a good few spins anyway to get myself prepared.

Disappointing that they're playing a shithole like Wembley, a Brixton gig and I'd have definitely gone. Will be interesting to see if they sell it out.

Yeah I was hoping for two Brixton gigs instead, still, they played there in 2011 so we had our chance.

More annoyed that there's no real way I can go to the Manchester date to see them in a smaller venue again, though Glastonbury would make up for that and some. If they play.

Acts who play Glastonbury also regularly play the larger venues in Manchester in the days afterwards, so I'd say that if they're not already booked then the band have at least made themselves specifically available to play. Billy's not stupid, he knows how much a high profile Glastonbury slot could help the band in the UK.

In recent years, I can think of; Stevie Wonder, Willie Nelson, Slash, Paul Simon, Fleet Foxes, Scissor Sisters
