Hey Semprini,

The pleasure was ours, has to be the best Pukkelpop for me, had a great time. Dave has already booked half the hotels out in Hasselt and we don't even know the dates yet.

Keep meaning to check out the links to the videos you posted.

Hopefully see you before at a gig or a match but if not then will see you on the wednesday before Pukkelpop 2014.

Great festival!!! As asual!! But 2013 edition dind't beat 2010 in my opinion!

The best: Skunk Anansie, NIN, Fucked Up, The XX (I must admit they have been a fantastic headliner), Psycho 44, Imagine Dragons, Eels, Low and Chuck Ragan.

The worst: The poor programation of Shelter Stage. It was a pity seeing this stage always empty and full of shitty metalcore for teenagers bands.

Unbeliveable: Neil Young, Frank Turner, Slayer, Brand New, As I Lay Dying, Emmure, Pretty Reckless... lot of rock bands have cancelled and no replacement... I've attended Groezrock (15km from PP arena) in 2010 and due to the Iceland Volcano 6 o 7 bands cancelled (bands like Sunny Day Real Estate) and they found good replacements in less than 24h... I know that replacing Neil Young it's a hard job... but the rest of the bands... Come on!!!

You do realise that's why they have it there do you? To attract some sort of hardcore/metal/metalcore audience? Like, it's a fucking tent, you don't have to go there, if you don't like the music.

edit: sorry, may have sounded a bit too harsh haha

Attract hardcore audience?? The tent was always empty!!!!!... we were having a beer in front of the Shelter when While She Sleeps was playing and the tent was totally empty!! where was this audience attracted???

I've seen this tent in last years full during Social Distortion, Good Riddance, Bad Religion, Rival Schools, NOFX, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, The Living End, Toy Dolls, Thursday , Get Up Kids, Mad Caddies... etc etc... and sooo many amazing bands!!

I think that you weren't in the festival this year. It's a pity watching your favourite stage empty every concert... People was really dissapointed about the change in the policy of that stage... I've attended this festival 5 years and the other 4 years I've seen the same people dancing in the pit and we always have some beers in the gap between concerts, and everybody said the same: Shelter Stage was downhill with no brakes, I've you have seen the stage full in any concert during the afternoon or evening like past years, sorry, i must be blind.

I think that what they have done is destroy the hardcore/punk audience... even when big bands like Quicksand or Fucked Up were playing the stage was 30% capacity...

There are hundreds of festivals in central europe during the summer powered by Impericon, Etnies... where all this metalcore bands play... Nonsense spending 165 euros for attending a festival for watching Architects, While She Sleeps, Your Demise, Hatebreed, Palm Reader, Yashin, Sleeping With SIrens, Caliban... You can find hundreds of festivals in Europe where you will pay 30 euros and will destroy your ears listening these bands.

It's all about the money though mate, a band like while she sleeps would stand out more than someone like, quicksand, and would sell a couple more tickets. It may also be because of Groezrock and Ieperfest snatching up all the harc0re bands. I haven't been to them (yet?) but I reckon this is a factor. people don't go to Pukkelpop to see Social Distortion, they go for big acts like Eminem, The Prodigy etc

It's a shame, but it's true :/

It's on the Holiday Inn website. Price is 303 for 4 nights but it's non-refundable. If you want to be able to cancel with no charge then it's about another 30 euros or so. I've just reserved a single room at the Century Hotel for 4 nights including breakfast for £205 (220). I can cancel at no cost though so I'll leave it there as backup. Anyone stayed in the Century before? Looks alright on the pictures and it's about the same distance from the station as the Holiday Inn Express.

Hi since PP was so good I'm also thinking to order a room with

free cancellation possibility

Hotel The Century price is ok, what about Ibis? somebody been there?

how far those hotels from festival site, is it a walking distance?

and are there any other hotels that you recommend?

tnx

Only ever stayed in Holiday Inn Express but Ibis looks similar. It doesn't include breakfast but I did hear that if you book direct with them (might have to phone them up) you may be able to negociate this with the price.

Dave and Jimmy stayed at the Saporis this year and they said it was really nice. At the high end of the price scale, you've got the Holiday Inn and the Radisson which would both be great but cost a fair bit.

There's no harm in reserving a hotel as you can cancel up to a day before at no cost.

You could walk to the festival site from any of these hotels (takes about 40 minutes) but the station is 10 minutes walk away and you can then take a free bus or train.

well.. thought about staying closer to the festival site even if it's not that good place (all I need is a bed and hot shower)

I don't really want to walk 40 minutes or take a bus each time although is not that far..

free bus/train is for each one or only for B & C

campsite ticket holders?

do you know hotels or even guest house closer to the festival site

or a website that I can find it myself?

I've also booked a couple of double rooms at the Holiday Inn Express, with the option to cancel at no charge. It works out at about 9 euros a night extra but is worth it imo for the peace of mind just in case something changes.

amfest12 - it really is no trouble at all getting the bus to and from the site so I wouldn't let that put you off.

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
