Naked bars are better than most cereal bars in that they aren't packed with High-fructose corn syrup and other highly-processed sugars. They do suffer from being delicious though, so an attack of the munchies might see an end to your stash.

Waitrose stock a range of high-protein energy bars that seem to have only natural ingredients, so worth checking out. Those I've tried have tasted great, but at about 100 calories a bite you might need to be careful (those on speed can ignore that last bit and chomp away).

We take preboiled eggs, vache qui rie, bread, tomato's, haribo, crisps, cheese slices, onions, lollypops, nuts, pringles, margerine.

Never had a problem with keeping the fresh goods fresh for a good 4 days.

I usually take haribo, lollipops, those tuna salad pots, some kind of flavoured nuts, giant snack-a-jacks, some scotch eggs and mini sausages for the first day, assorted mccoys, fruit pots for breakfast, couple of apples and a tesco value pack of biscuits. Then I'll have one hot meal a day and I find that does me ok. Although my campmates always nick my food so I have to bring a bit more than I usually would.

Decent coffee - though milk can be a problem, although we used to keep a washing up bowl full of cold water with a tea towel draped over it to absorb the water and evaporate to keep milk and other drinks chilled. Also I've found that the 'extra filtered' fresh milk does tend to keep longer. (I know there's a festival milk cart that does the rounds but I nearly always miss is).

Along with coffee, drinking chocolate and Hob Nobs for late night munchies.

Most fruit should keep for a few days - apples, oranges, bananas, tomatoes

The same with bread and cheese.

Add some pickle, perhaps a tin of corned beef, baked beans.
