After deciding against getting my sleeve for the time being due to the cost I'm thinking of getting 'pick the weeds, keep the flowers' to some up the changes I've made in my life over the past three months. It's a metaphor for friendship and the people that come and go in your life.

Not sure where to get it though.

Just got my latest ink which I spoke about earlier in the thread.Really happy with it and the tattooist loved the idea behind it.We spoke about my sleeve and he's quoted me a cheaper price and is desperate to work on it as he thinks it could be epic and different to what he normally does.So yeah, very exciting.

Just I have seen older people with them and they are terribly faded and on wringly skin. I don't mean to course offence. I appreciate people have them to reflect their personalities and to reflect good and bad things in life - almost like a diary of life?

I've got a Japanese character on my belly (it's supposed to say Spirit Heart and Mind but I doubt that's true), a treble clef with multi-coloured stars on my shoulder and an "f" (my initial) with a halo and a devil's tail on the top of my arm. Kinda wish I hadn't got the one on my arm but otherwise I love them. My last one was done 14 years ago but I'm thinking of a new one; "Be someone someone would want to be" (a Marillion lyric) on the inside of my ankle. I want an Om somewhere as well but I've not decided where yet...

i'm getting a tattoo on my arm, but as I've quit being a waster a year ago and started going to the gym, swimming and running every week I thought I should probably wait till I've evened out into whatever body size I end up as :P

getting a small skull and crossbones on my wrist and I've met some lovely artists as well as some right douchebags in the last week

I vowed at an early age not to have a tat. Wouldn't want to be permanently scarred with something which meant something at one particular time attached to me (I know my memories fall into the same category but I can't stop them).

So, there I was today having a surgeon push an appliance up my arse. He proceeded to take a tiny sample for analysis. He then took the machine out of my arse only to push it back up again to tattoo the area where they took the sample from.

So, to conclude - I do have a tat, but it's on my colon. Beat that!

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
