Campervan Fields tickets/wristbands

So we're planning on buying a campervan and staying in luxury at glasto this year (11years of festival camping, I've done my time) but have a slight concern about the ticket/wristband situation.

I understand the campervan fields are offsite....so do you have to keep your ticket on you at all times? Or do you get a campervan wristband?

If the former, what is the point in the wristband if you have to show your ticket all the time??

From what I remember you get a passout when you go back to your van. You then hand this in on your way back into the site. You also wear a wristband like anyone else. - I've never understood why passouts are used.. One year you got some kind of uv stamp on your arm as well?

You have to show your ticket (and hand back the paper passout on re-entry) each time you enter.

The entrance security measures require both the wristband and ticket.

Last year we were staying in a campsite outside the main gate and on the Friday night I lost my ticket in Shangri La. It was around my neck outside my hoodie and I took my hoodie off! Anyway they double wristbanded me as a way of identifying me as someone who'd lost their ticket. I never really understood why they didn't use this system for everyone and then you wouldn't need to worry about your ticket. Maybe a cost issue! But I had to get a pass out each day in the normal way and then had the hassle every day of explaining to Stewards what the double wristband was for.

Pass outs pretty much ensure it's one out, one in. Otherwise you could just wander out with someone else's wristband and ticket, in addition to your own, and give them to someone to get them in to the festival. Needing a pass out in order to get back in makes this more difficult.

One other word iof warning they also do random searches each day of people going in from the CV fields. So watch what you're carrying. If you camp there's just the one possible check when you arrive. With the CV fields its a daily risk.

    • Jesse Malin at Manchester Halle St Peter's last night.   So good to see him back touring after the trauma he has been through, him and the backing band sounded great.   Support was Bason. I quite enjoyed him, but man, that guy cannot sing.
