Going to attend my first ICW show next month hopefully if there are still tickets. Looking at August 24th.

It is well worth it the standard of wrestling for some of them is really good and the promos are great for most people and they don't shy away from speaking about WWE or making fun of them.

Got tickets for the 17th. I bought one for the 24th first by mistake as that was the date I thought I was going but my mate can't attend that night.

Are matches announced in advanc?

That Drew promo was brilliant. One of the best I've seen this year.

TNA's new signing

TNA Wrestling Signs American War Hero Chris Melendez to Multi-Year Agreement
446b2ae0a0a528acc6168730e3558c96_L.jpg?t

TNA Wrestling is happy to announce the signing of a true American hero! Chris Melendez is a former Army Sergeant, who served his country in Afghanistan and was awarded a Purple Heart. Because of injuries suffered in combat, the brave soldier returned home a single leg amputee. Melendez, a member of the Wounded Warrior Project, had another dream to realize when he returned home. He dreamed of becoming a pro wrestler.

Chris’ remarkable story begins as a kid growing up in Spanish Harlem. His grandmother introduced him to professional wrestling at a young age and, ever since, he has been hooked.

“The ability to captivate an audience without having to say any words is what got me hooked.”

Inspired by his father, a Vietnam Vet, and compelled by the events of September 11, Chris joined the U.S. Army at the young age of 17. At age 19, and with only 23 days of his Iraq deployment remaining, he sustained horrifying life-threatening injuries from an IED.

“When I was able to open my eyes after the explosion I looked across the battlefield to see what I thought was a fellow-soldier in need of help. I quickly realized it was my leg.”

After being resuscitated three times and enduring numerous emergency surgeries and procedures, Melendez’s long road of recovery took him to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Through pure grit and determination, cutting edge science and technology delivered via the VA, and support from friends, family and The Wounded Warrior Project, Melendez was walking with a prosthetic within 40 days.

In 2012, Melendez entered Team 3D Academy of Professional Wrestling in Florida where he trained day-in and day-out under the tutelage of Bully Ray and Devon. Now, TNA Wrestling can announce the signing of Chris Melendez to a multi-year contract.

Still known in the locker room as “Sarge”, Melendez is set to make his debut for the company during the August 5-7 tapings at New York City’s legendary Manhattan Center.

Think this will get TNA shit loads of good PR.

Hope he's good in the ring however or I don't agree with it, although I doubt Bully would have trained him for 2 years and put him in the position of embarassing himself or their school if he wasn't.

Yeah a lot of matches are announced in advance then some just happen on the night but you usually get people putting promos on youtube and stuff so you can work out who is going to fight who in the weeks leading up to it. They usually announce fights on their twitter and facebook accounts.

Impact has been brilliant lately, loved Destination X. Opener and main event were awesome and x division were solid tv matches.

I will spoiler tag this even though it got revealed.

Why did they air a promo at end of Impact showing next weeks episode with Dixie going through a table.

I already knew it was going to happen as I read spoilers but a lot of wrestling fans don't so kind of ruins the suspense and the element of surprise.

I've got a confession guys. I've been watching Total Divas. And I love it

GET OUT.

Nah never seen it or ever wish to although a wrestling stream site that I use a lot of people on there seem to watch it and thats full of people who I wouldn't class any of them as casual wrestling fans. So must be doing something right.

I never planned on ever watching it, but it was on Sky and there was nothing else on, and I just wanted to watch more and more  It gives a good insight into what guys like Bryan, Cena and The Usos are like away from the ring. Bryan seems such a humble and normal guy, as does Brie Bella.

*edit*

Damn metallimuse beat me to it!

Cena comes across as abit of a self centred dick on it a lot I feel.

Nah. Care to elaborate?

Well after last week's RAW, there was a tonne of moaning from the IWC about the amount of network plugs they had in the show. So this week, Triple H came out and was obviously taking the piss by repeatedly dropping the phrase, "Which you can see on the WWE Network for just $9.99" in an increasingly sarcastic way each time The Authority spoke about Summerslam. It sounds nothing much out of context, but if you watch it you'll get it more. I thought it was great, makes me laugh when Triple H feeds the smarks

But the announcers really are taking the piss with the amount they have plugged it the past couple of weeks, it's pathetic.

I think he seems a nice enough guy, but I get what you mean. He seems kind of smarmy in an overly-diplomatic way at times, if you get what I mean? That said, he does have a very nice house (both of them).

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
