Apparently GTA 5 is being delayed from spring to September which may mean a release on next gen too.

I don't think the consoles will be out by then and i don't think it'll launch on them, the thing is just taking ageeees to develop and sticking it on two new platforms won't help that. They don't even seem bothered about a Wii U version which would require less effort to make in general.

When they sort the PC version which usually comes a year or so later I'm sure they'll release it on the new consoles though, prob bundled with the DLC packs or something.

PS4 rumours are swirling now - the 4k thing will be movie output only btw, games will be 1080p max. Reckon they'll release it 2014 in Europe too, get it out this year for Japan and USA though.

Its been pretty much confirmed Europe won't be getting PS4 until 2014, Im fine with that, I doubt I'll buy a PS4 upon release, it will be too expensive, the games too expensive and won't have enough of them, It will be end of 2014 at the earliest I'll invest, I have PS+ sub on my PS3 until April 2014 already sorted and im very happy with the service.

If like suggested in the Guardian piece Sony offer a greater PS+ service of a ton of games via cloud like PS1, PS2 and PS3 games and films and music videos, they'll be laughing. Sony have this advantage over Microsoft their film and music collection. Could be a massive selling point.

It's only one rumour from Eurogamer that has suggested that isn't it? I think it's likely too but I wouldntt say its anywhere near confirmed, and theres a good chance Sony probably arn't even sure yet. I wouldn't mind though tbh, I plan on being a launch adopter and getting it very close to release, but if Europe sees a delays it at least means the first batch off the production line wont come here and it'll have a bit more software.

PS+ will be expanded upon great too I'm sure. Reckon both Sony and Microsoft may adopt the model of selling the console v cheap but tying you down to 3-5 years of 'subscription' on whatever service to make that money back.

I've got my copy pre-ordered (because I'm a slut for Aliens) so I'm really hoping to see some positive reviews pop up over the weekend!

Yeah, reserved mine at the Game near where I work yesterday... How long have you had to pay a fiver for pre-orders by the way?!

It's a piss take right?! I went for the fancypants edition with the statue (as discussed, Aliens slag) but only because I've got about forty quids worth of trade in. Looking forward to it :D

You get yours on 360 mate? Could get down with some multiplayer sometime if you fancy it? :)

these are fairly informative, and woody is usually quite well informed

What he has to say about steam from 4 minutes on in the first video is right on the money. Cheers for the clips.

I bought farcry 3 on steam last night, off to lose a chunk of my evening to it.

Anyone planning of getting Aliens: Colonial Marines? Even though it's only four days from release, I haven't seen any reviews pop up yet... Is that a good thing or a bad thing?!

2.5/10 from Destructoid, 3/10 from Eurogamer, and a high 4.5/10 from IGN .

I'll be heading to Game after work and putting my £5 pre-order towards Assassins Creed 3 or Far Cry 3. At least they're not completely broken.

That is shockingly bad. You hear of wii u rayman being pushed back to sept, even though its finished, and apparenltly awesome, yet the studios are quite happy to peddle this shite and market it like some kind of triumph.

Eurogamer and a few other sites at least have some integrity, embargoes are the thin end of the wedge IMHO, a small step down from press junkets where press are showered with freebies.

I'm gutted. I really wanted a great Aliens game and to be terrified of the xenomorphs as I'd be a fragile marine compared to them... But no. Instead, you get xenos that stand and wait to be shot. Bad times indeed.

Re: Rayman - I wasn't likely to pick it up day one but after playing the demo on Wii U I would have been tempted to buy it evetually, it was good fun and looked gorgeous.

So... Far Cry 3 or Assassins Creed 3... decisions, decisions...

I'm going to get colonial marines anyway, and decide for myself, but it doesn't sound good, a few of the guys I work with are getting it/have got it, so at least we can play online and figure out if there are any redeeming features.

I'm gutted its been poorly received though, had high hopes for this one.

    • Mount Kimbie were really good. Great Sound, great crowd. A nice way to end this day.
    • Yeah what was up with Jai. Not great tbh. Would like to hear other opinions bc I didn't really like him
    • Ethel Cain and Brutus to bookend the day were my highlights. Had been listening to Brutus a bit over the last few weeks and had no clue the vocalist was the drummer, insane workload! Ethel was just other-worldly, and even managed to shut the yappers in the crowd up.   Lana was late, flat, but I was stood near the back and away from the masses and it was alright. Ocean Boulevard stood out, not least because her backing singers seemed to know how to perform better.    Even stuck around for most of The National and really enjoyed a band I've never got on board with before. Just so much good music happening!
