Dont think Download are gunna pull out anything that will make me return next year, I look at that list and its all acts Ive seen or not bothered about.

Wonder if its going to be another rough year for Download to book acts, its not gunna be as strong as this year. Plus Glasto being back on. Think a lot of extra tickets were bought by people who would normally be there, reckon IOW may have lost a bunch of fans this year though because of the weather.

Im not sure who Id want there but I can see Live Nation doing EVERYTHING possible to get one of Foos, Green Day or Muse.

I also believe with the growth of Download they wouldn't book Tool as headliners anymore unless they know they're going to be going for a lower attendence. They won't shift 120k with Tool.

My IOW comments were down to the fact, the punters that I saw in the news and on twitter were upset they hadn't been informed of how bad things were before they crossed on the ferry, a normal 20 minute car journey they said took 18 hours or whatever it was, the fact that they were stuck in traffic waiting to get in whilst Giddings wasn't even mentioning the situation but instead twitting about how good Primal Scream were pissing people off even more [put yourself in their shoes, you'd be pissed off too], also the fact he said you can go home and get your money back then the next day changed his mind and said you can get on site now there's no reason to give your money back I won't be doing it.

It's not down to the weather, its the public relations between festival and attendees that followed it.

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
