I don't get it i'm afraid.

As far as i can see, a guy playing shit records on a massive stage with a decent light show and punters going mental.

It sure as hell is as no further away from live music as karaoke IMO.

Is it an age thing? is it a drug thing? is it just plain shit?

I saw a bit of this he just played his own track and turned the volume down a bit occasionally so people could sing along, could have at least got some singers or something!

I'm pretty sure (though I had been drinking) that the BBC put up the artist/title captions for each song as if he was actually doing something other than playing someone else's music. I used to be bang into dance music and, like everyone, had my favourite DJ's, but I never really got the appeal of watching them in a huge field. Each to their own, but DJ's belong in clubs for me.

Really? That makes it all the more wierd for me to be honest. I suppose I'm now wondering why he doesn't bring a live band out on the road and do all his tunes live?

No matter, he got a big crowd and they were loving it, fair play to him.

(though Dj'ing, and playing all your own records seems a little vain to me!)

The problem is so many of these DJ tracks are in collaboration with singers and unless they come as a complete package when performing live, it's pretty dull. That said, if you're one of those young 'uns as I used to be, standing in a field of 10,000's of people off your head bopping to banging choons is quite enjoyable. I used to travel around the country on the faint rumour of such an event 20 odd years ago!!!

I was at T in the Park and the lineup this year really was representative of the way music is headed, so many of the headliners were DJs.

I'm 18 and out of the group of 9 of us that went, only two of us opted for the Stone Roses over Guetta. I will never understand the appeal of watching a bloke press play, clap his hands occassionally and grin at the crowd like a nutter. Utter bollocks.

Even a band such as the Roses, one of the greatest of all time, will struggle to compete with the fake spectacle that comes with DJ sets. It's sad.

David Guetta is the worst artist around full stop....Infact i hate everything he does and I hate it when he comes over to Malta and plays ( press play button ) infront of 8000 headless chickens and the day after say that it has been the best event they've ever attended. Disgrace.

Same goes to Swedish House Mafia, thankfully they split up...

Im sorry the above can't be classified as artists not even as djs as they fake it.
