On the whole hologram thing I think it was done very well, it wasn't as if people had paid for a whole gig and only got a hologram it was for only two songs and it was done really well.

This was only a small part of guest appearances such as Eminem, 50 Cent and Wiz khalifa so people definitely got their moneys worth as well as seeing an act that they would have no chance of otherwise seeing

Would be dreaming if we could get a Cobain hologram with the foos for one song for the 20th anniversary. Add Kist Novoselic to the mix and use the same footage as reading 1992 and that would be incredible.

Sod it, why not just get a hologram of Krist as well, have Dave mime-drumming along to the whole '92 gig being played over the PA with two holograms in front of him. In fact have his own hologram next to him to see if he can match how he played back then. That would be a classy way to honour the past and not tactless at all.

The press and general reaction seems to suggests that this is the first ever use of holograms, it's not that special. It was overall a surprisingly good set but I'm not really a fan of Dre, Snoop (and Eminem and 50 Cent), so was never going to get me hugely excited.

if something like that puts you off then you dont deserve to experince coa! its so warm you dont even want to drink. me and my two mates are big drinkers but only wanted water in the day just to stay alive. and the camping arrangement with your car is 10000 times better than leeds (although it would not work her with muddy fields and chavs smashing in windows)

saying he doesnt deserve to experience it was a joke...

but you won't understand how little alcohol matters in the day other there, it doesn't cross your mind once that you'd wish you could drink, i even forgot about it in the end, and just drank at the tents in the night when it cools down.

Personally I thought it was in excellent taste, remembering a dead performer who contributed a lot to the genre with a part in an overall great headline show giving people the chance to see someone (even in hologram form) that they will never see again. Plus his mother was asked for the permission and she was very pleased with it so I dont see why it wouldnt be taken well.

R&L need something different and IN to sell out tickets. Book Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg enough said. People will go for nastolgia if nothing else. And you would settle for decent bands making their way to major festival headline status due to what that was would, I think anyway?

    • Its just going to be another dementia tax isn't it? The issue is this is going to be seen as a continuation of the labour government that have already raised taxes 1000% above manifesto promises.
    • One thing that Burnham has been talking about is scrapping inheritance tax and replace it with a social care levy ... which would be less progressive, but might be a good idea if was a solution for the social care crisis. Would need to sell it well to a public who would prefer not to pay more tax.
    • Maybe you should put your name forward to be Burnham's chancellor.
    • But I think the point of that Dan Needle tax thing...we need to put up income tax, for all incomes (and thresholds should be unfrozen).
    • There are no easy answers...more than anything we need growth...and probably main ways of getting that is borrowing more to invest in stuff that makes us super sexy, and/or cut taxes on business and wealth generation which would mean less money to spend on public services and welfare and would obviously be super unpopular and get you chucked out of govt. On top of all that got an aging population, a growing welfare bill, a call for higher spending on defence, housing inequality, higher borrowing costs, and probably a load more sh*t on the way due to the Iran war (although so far it hasn't been that bad?)
