I can't remember dates and stuff now and can't be bothered to look, but it's quite possible that at the time I wrote that I knew The Cure were headlining. I knew for a fair while before I said.

There was a fair amount of playing with you too this year, chucking names at you who I 100% knew were not the headliner, both because I had specific info to rule certain acts out and because I knew who the headliner was. Doing that got to be highly amusing, both for the reactions on here and what it got from elsewhere.

Sometimes such things are necessary. It's only the 2nd time since I've been running efests that I've done that, I think.

Was the fact that you believed it could be Blur a couple of days before the announcement one of your curve balls? Or the fact that you said the Cure probably weren't big enough & would more than likely do Latitude? If that's how you've chosen to view what I've said I doubt there's anything I can say to change your mind.

But just consider this: I've never once previously said anything like this* in 13 years of running efests, and it undermines the credibility of what I might post in the future. Why would I chose to say something like that, bearing those facts in mind?

It does seem that in the future anything posted on the forums will have to be taken with a pinch of salt, and perhaps just the official stories can be trusted when they're posted. All three headliners were revealed in that format, it's just all the shit on the forums prior to that which can't be trusted.

If I say someone is definitely playing, then I believe they're definitely playing. Nothing has changed with that.
