karelaanzee
Bruce is doubtful now since he's doing Pinkpop in Holland. Edit: No Bruce Springsteen, Pinkpop is only festival in benelux. Edited November 27, 2011 by karelaanzee
dirty_dog
who's the likely headliners then? RHCP defiantly, metallica looks an obvious choice. Maybe Gaga might be one. Looking at past lineups and RW doesn't seem too ashamed at having a headliner 2 or 3 years too late.
thetime
Werchter usually have 2 headliners per night, can see foos/metallica/Rhianna amongst the headliners. With the likes of bjork, editors, Florence, strokes also playing but who knows. Werchter have band through the day which headline uk festivals. Example of this is kasabian/mcr playing in the afternoon. But it's a lovely well run festival with not a hint of trouble.

dirty_dog
decision now is whether to fly or drive. was thinking of getting the overnight ferry from hull to zebrugge. only 2 and a half hours to hull and then only an hour 30 the other side. thetime
You should get the euro star or flight to Brussels, as it's free public transport once your in Belgium.
karelaanzee
Florence + The Machine confirmed. "More names to follow', don't know they'll announce more today.

Sparticus
Florence being announced this early on doesn't bode well. If they're going to go for a female pop act, go for lady gaga or rihanna (who's around at that time as it is). Let's hope florence and her warbling shitstream arn't one of the big eight. karelaanzee
Florence is extremely popular. Sold out the AB in minutes. That's why they announce her early. She'll be playing three or four places beneath the headliner.
Sparticus
During the day is alright, my problem is knowing how many high calibre acts are touring this year and thus, having ridiculous expectations for werchter to produce a fantastic lineup from it. Funkyfairy!
With the absence of Glastonbury am thinking of doing my first RW next year. One of our friends mentioned a 'Rock village' with 'wooden huts' you can stay in - would save us lugging tents etc via planes (live in the Channel Islands). Does anyone know about this 'village' and how you get tickets for it. Also whats the atmosphere like, and what is there to do apart from watch the bands ? Cheers

karelaanzee
Don't think so. They aren't touring Europe then, because otherwise they would have done RW.
Gossard
Metallica are touring Europe, but all their confirmed shows so far are in May/early June. I was pretty sure that the other two headliners would be Radiohead and Metallica, but Metallica seems to be out. Who could be the fourth headliner then, Nickleback? The Prodigy? Björk? AC/DC? The Beatles?
karelaanzee
No Nickelback, they aren't popular at all here in Belgium. The Prodigy will possibly be there, but not as headliner. I'm pretty sure Björk will be there too, but also not as headliner.
Gossard
Maybe Nickleback are not headliner but a lower slot is possible. Saw them at PinkPop in 2006 and they played midday at the second stage. I see Björk as a potential sub to Radiohead(I assume Radiohead headline the Thursday) and maybe The Prodigy can do a set like in 2009 when they played after Oasis, some kind of late night special. But who is a potential headliner then? Radiohead and who? I can't see Blink-182 headline or the Killers...any ideas? What headlining material bands are touring at the time of Rock Werchter?
