Just interested to see what main stage headliners people have watched over the past few years and which were there favourites.

List the bands you have seen and than make your fave performances bold...I have too much spare time :P

Seen at least half hour of every headliner over past 3 years I've been, was impressed with Radiohead when I saw them even though they weren't really my thing, apart from that been really disappointed with every band I've seen... up until muse, thought they were fantastic.

Like the previous poster though, I don't think any of them would be in my Top 5 festival headliners ever. In fact, I'm cheating by having 'co-headliner' Pulp in there. My better half enjoyed MCR a helluva lot more than she expected though, she was thoroughly impressed so I'd put them ahead of The Strokes if I had to

Gorillaz (last minute in for U2)

Muse

Stevie Wonder

U2

Coldplay

Beyonce

so OK, some of those aren't Reading bands/acts, and might not be everyone's cup of tea, but you can't argue with the quality. Blink 182, MCR and Strokes aren't fit to wipe Stevie Wonder's arse

Those are all the main stage headliners Ive seen (although some I only watched half of to go see a tent headliner) 5 best are bolded with rage the best by a mile

I can't believe after 40 possible headliners ive only watched 16 and i wish i didn't bother with both RHCP's and Metallica was a favour for a friend cause i hate them.

that wasn't my point though. Of course you might have different personal tastes, but its the calibre of the headliners im taking about. Even compare Reading 09,10,11 with Reading 06,07,08. Muse, Pearl Jam, RHCP, Smashing Pumpkins, RATM, Metallica are all big hitters (RHCP might have been shit but they were one of the biggest bands in the world when they played). I just think Reading's headliners over the last 3 years has been very limp, while Glasto is for a different demographic,you can't deny they've really nailed the big acts over the last 3 years

Edit: Hadn't noticed its supposed to be 5 not 3 but surprised at how few I've bothered to watch properly over the years so sticking with 3... RHCP were only ones that were shit.
