Thames Sports Investment Ltd, a newly-founded private investment company, are very pleased to have signed Heads of Agreement with Sir John Madejski on Friday to acquire a significant holding in Reading Football Club.

Our agreement is now subject to due diligence and the normal procedures from the Football League.

The transaction is due to complete in March 2012, but the Heads of Agreement, as agreed with Sir John Madejski, includes providing Reading Football Club with some limited funding now to enable Brian McDermott and Nick Hammond to strengthen the playing squad during this January transfer window. TSI have met with Brian, Nick and the club to begin this process.

TSI is also delighted that Sir John Madejski has agreed to remain Chairman of Reading Football Club until at least 2014, and to become Life President if and when he decides to step down.

TSI wishes to emphasise that Reading Football Club's management team will remain unchanged, as will the fundamental policies of the club, including prudent fiscal management. Since Sir John Madejski took over at Elm Park in 1991 this club has rightly earned a first class reputation, on and off the pitch. TSI value and respect the ethos and approach held by everyone associated with Reading - the Chairman, staff, players and supporters.

TSI's financial support aims to allow the club to retain its best players and acquire additional players as the football management team see fit. It will also enable the club to expand and further improve its successful Academy and scouting operations.

Jol gets away with another tactical blunder. He got the team fired up for the second half at least, kind of feels like he can only do that when we're losing lol. Great win in the end though, never felt like we totally dominated the second half, just ended up far too easy for us to pass it through their defence once we had 3 up front.

Dempsey's finishing is so good too, he must have one of the highest conversion rates on shots that arn't long range speculative ones.

Really hope we get Johnsons contract sorted too.

I think bolton were due a big win, they have a good manager and some good players. Its funny how things change, I remember after 2 games around 90% of the media were predicting liverpool wiuld finish top 4 and now it would probably be very low. A 6 point gap from chelsea is worrying, but in reality they were always unlikely to finish above them. The more worrying fact is the 11 point gap from spurs who will really need to bomb over 16 games for liverpool to catch.

I just watched the Zambia-Senegal game. Entertaining football, Zambia were stunning first half, but I wonder how much of that was related to how abject Senegal were. Zambia tired, and Senegal improved, but Ba wasn't finishing like he has been for us.

I love the African Nations, lost players aside.

Top four, in my opinion, was always tough going. There's a lot of good sides and we're still recovering from the Hodgson debacle. For all the complaints people had about Benitez, the best players in the team (bar Suarez) are still his buys.

We were great first half the season and didn't win the games we should. Now we're playing shite and not getting the results either. Comolli needs to pull something out the bag soon.

.I kind of think Daglish is lucky to have the reputation he does there, as I'd imagine most sides Liverpool's size would expect to be higher then 7th after spending some £120m in a year. I'm not suggesting anyone should be thinking about sacking him or anything but if it was a different man in charge I reckon you'd hear more rumblings of the sort.

What is the Hodgson debacle? From what I saw he was forced to sell more then he spent, and while his signings weren't exactly inspiring (Albeit you made a profit on Merieles who looked very good and the rest were youth for the most part) he didn't exactly shake up the team or leave things very different from how Benitez did.
