my comment was nothing to do with any rule, but the accusation that was made - one of Suarez calling Evra 'nigger', which is now regarded by all involved as false.

Even if everything in the panel's report is true (and I'm not trying to say it's not here) that original accusation was incorrect, and so Liverpool's defence of that original accusation was spot on. Their player was not guilty of using the word he was accused of.

Few people would work their response to a wrong accusation like that by accepting it as right when it's not, regardless of whether a person's guilt towards the rules is true.

Never a red but with todays rules, leave the ground, even an inch off the ground, and you run that risk. You give the ref a choice.

And for all his protesting, Rooneys reaction helped make the refs mind up.

I'm all for cards and reds for dangerous play, but dangerous play has to surely be something where that player is the one creating the danger. While the Rodwell card against Liverpool was a lunge towards a player, the one on Sunday wasn't - there was no player there.

Nani ran towards the point of possible impact, and so was the one creating the danger to himself rather than the danger coming from what Kompany did. And Kompany had got and moved on the ball long before Nani arrived.

I can see why the ref thought there might have been something dangerous to it (mainly from the angle he saw it from) but the ref got it completely wrong - more wrong than the ref did with that Rodwell red (where there was actually contact with the player, and the skill in Rodwell's feet might have decieved the ref into thinking it was something it wasn't).

If the ref had given a yellow I'd have thought it harsh but perhaps not too harsh. Red was far more than it deserved.

I have no idea, I was not at any of the meetings where it was discussed, so why/ how could I have a clue?

it's been in the papers, it's detailed in the panel's report. If you've read anything much about the case it shouldn't have passed you by.

I'm not trying to suggest that the change in allegation of the word used makes any difference to Suarez's guilt if you want to go with Evra's changed version of what was said. I'm merely pointing out that when Liverpool originally started defending Suarez from the allegation that had been initially made they were spot on, because Suarez wasn't guilty of that allegation (as everyone involved now accepts).

In which case the condemnation of Prince Harry was misplaced.

I'm not trying tro be overly anal about this, but I'd have thought that dressing up - or dressing up a photo - to protray a Nazi isn't in the best tasteat the very least. What Nal posted that might portray towards "laughing at racists" allows no less for laughing along with racism.

Hughes is having his interview at QPR according to the beeb.

I'm not sure that's something that will last too long. Owners with big ambitions but not the money to match are normally the worst to work for based on what managers say on exit.
