I swear in many occasions you've said how you were pretty sure they weren't?

I always thought U2 were playing last time.

I've thought that the stones would knock glasto back this time - but right now I've got to say that I was very probably wrong about that (tho we've yet to find out for certain). But I still don't have good enough info - any info, really - to justify marking them as a tbc.

I do find it strange how many newspapers claim to have stones sources saying they are playing but you have little?

Kinda leads me to think some of them may be lying, because normally something this scale you would of heard something!

If you believe anything just because it's in a paper you're a complete tool and deserve a harsh response, the better to get you to wake the hell up and stop living in a fantasy world. Takes one cursory glance at a newsagent at some point in your life to realise they're all overflowing with lies on every page.

Don't let yourself become disillusioned.

The waiting is all Neil's fault, anyway. Just today several people have mentioned The Rolling Stones in sentences relating to Glastonbury but, despite this, Neil refuses to change their status to at least TBC. Yesterday I saw someone in a Dark Side of the Moon T-Shirt who looked like the sort of chap who'd have heard of Glastonbury and yet still he won't even add Pink Floyd to the rumours list.

I know I'm not the only one who's sick of his "the information must come from a good source" and "nothing's actually confirmed until the festival confirm it" nonsense. Honestly, why can't Neil just announce the whole line up based on the whims and wants of people on this forum? We can worry about it being wrong later.

My comment of going around in circles has been taking the wrong way i think haha. I meant in the sense that people are still arguing over who they think will be on, i've seen every for and against argument for The Stones and Mumford about 10 times and every now and then someone throws in the 'Are Fleetwood ruled out yet?'

Newspapers have pages to fill every day, so they need something to fill them. This then leads them to present rumour and speculation as fact, not caring about being wrong because today's made-up news it tomorrow's chip paper.

Having said that, it's possible that they have better (genuine) sources on this occasion. I don't claim to be the only person able to get accurate info.

The PR company that the stones uses does love the tabloids (and not a lot else), so if they're deliberately leaking info (I don't know if they are or not; I'd plump for 'not' tho, they're one of the tighter PR companies) then tabloids is where it's likely to end up.

    • Cool, if potentially completely exhausting, idea.
    • We don't have any choice but I don't need a t-shirt for it! 🙂    On the bright side, it gets it out of the way for a nice 5 year run... notwithstanding wars, new contagious diseases and apocalypse.
