still mentions of kiss floating around apparently, these lads are involved at thrash hits. I'm sure Raz was on the metal hammer podcast last year.

KISS and Queen at Download is a really terrible idea isnt it. FNM are good tho.

Raziq Rauf

@TomxDoyle Sonisphere?

Tom Doyle

..if it is Kiss and FNM, then sign me up!

I very much doubt it's Kiss.

What I've heard is that they can't find a third headliner. I doubt that an attempt to get Kiss would be so far down their list that they've only got around to asking themn in the last couple of weeks.

I wonder what they trying to do now? Possibly offer loads of money to get someone like Muse, Green Day etc who aren't touring and hope it sells out to cover it, get someone who wouldn't be universally popular like Nickelback, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance but are touring this year or push someone up like Bullet For My Valentine, Queens Of The Stone Age but that's a short list of who could work and hasn't been booked elsewhere already.

It just occured to me that even though they have 2 headliners booked already alot/some of the undercard may not be yet. Last year on Biffy day they had a few acts like Weezer that fitted in well under them so without the last headliner in place they might be having trouble booking a sub to match and deciding which bands play on what day saying that tho 2010 was pretty mish-mash.

The rumours for Kiss have been around for a long time now though.

exactly. So I'd think that if there was anything to it they'd have them signed up or very close to signing up.

Word I've heard (a few weeks old now, and it might not be accurate) is that there was no 3rd headliner on the horizon.

...smaller Friday headliner, cheaper ticket!....that would probably considered a step back though I guess.

Any more updates on possible announcment? Excuse me if this has already been discussed.

    • Hush cancelled with a similar event now taking place at EartH and Cate Le Bon doing her own show, maybe others have rearranged gigs?
    • Yeah I find it strange, if they were just a silly act then they wouldn't be headlining the 3rd stage. The likes of vengaboys yes but they aren't doing their own sizeable arena dates.  That looks very weak for what they could actually get, but GC aren't playing 3rd main stage with The 02 and the Coop arena and in a same slot that KSE are. MIW aren't carrying those two dates either, neither are Turnstile and Parkway Drive tickets didn't play out. You gotta do better than Ghost, Blink and Deftones though.    I think you are a bit even if that is not the intention. I'm genuinely shocked they booked them for the avalanche and I think it'll be rammed out of the tent. While ADTR will obviously get a lot too, many Download attendees will had the chance to see them at Slam Dunk. I think 90s fest getting Scooter was class and while there would have been some Download crossover, the Slam Dunk crossover given acts you get on the avalanche will be a different level.
