Birthday treat...

It's my boyfriend's birthday on the Sunday, and i'm trying desperately to think of something nice to do for him. I won't be bringing a pressie into the festival for him, as every square inch of packing space is precious....so i'm trying to think of a nice way to mark the day. I know that being at glasto is special enough, but I still don't want the day to pass by unmarked. It's his first time, so everything will probably be pretty special to him anyway I suppose!

Anyway, I'm hopelessly unromantic and lacking in imagination (that's usually his role!), so if any of you old-romantics out there can help, any ideas would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

edit: typo for atrocious non-use of apostrophe...it is definitely the birthday of my one boyfriend, and not coincidentally the birthday of ALL of my boyfriends!!

I'm sure someone asked a similar question last year and it was sugested that they could get an on site baker to do a cake.

Other than that, how about organising a flash mob rendition of happy birthday?

Good luck with whatever you decide on!

There are lots of crafty things to do in the craft fields.

The Bimble Inn or any place that has bands playing that you could try and chat to before they go on, get them to play

Happy Birthday?

A Flash mob at this late hour might be tricky to arrange but could still be done I reckon.

Get a tshirt printed with

====> It's his birthday today

and you wear it and see if he gets any drinks bought for him :D

Or one for him that says 'Its my birthday...I'm thirsty...who's buying? ;)

I think he'd be mortified if I got a flash-mob together as he's pretty shy. However, I'm liking the idea of making him wear something to advertise the fact its his birthday. He'd probably hate that too, but it would make me laugh all day!!

I think I'd do a belated birthday and get a Monday night in a hotel! Muddy up someone elses bathroom.

And.....There are the silver making people in one of the grafty areas. I know of people who made a tie pin and book mark from there one year as a belated father days present.

I'm getting my friend a large personalised badge off eBay, a t-shirt saying "I Love Clunge" & taking him to The Park for a few ales, Malinky's or somewhere with cocktails (any advice) during the day Saturday as there aren't any bands we want to see until Friendly Fires.

Oooh yeh, I also like the personalised t-shirt thing. That would be a pretty special keepsake forever. Now I need to get thinking on what to put on it.....This glasto planning seems to take up far more time than my 9-5 job permits! Good job my bosses can't see my screen.......!

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
