Graham Coxon is likely to be solo acoustic. That's how he's been whenever I've seen him as a solo artist.

I think someone suggested Miles Kane & Arctic Monkeys/Alex Turner performing as Last Shadow Puppets, seems like a good shout...

but after hearing Alex talking about Sheffield on BBC6Music, how about them extending it to form a hometown supergroup with guests including Jarvis Cocker & Richard Hawley???

Seems to cover off the Pulp & Arctic Monkeys rumours, without including the full bands, and follows on from the style of Radiohalf last year - i.e. something special, a bit of a one off.

it was defo the case that Brandon Flowers wasn't going to be doing Glasto when only his solo shows had been announced, but it's possible I guess that things might have changed since Hard Rock Calling have booked The Killers .... tho I doubt it.

After all, The Killers for HRC is a late fill-in for Prince (who they were hoping to get), and because they weren't meant to be doing any shows this summer I suspect that HRC will have paid a stupid amount to get them, and are likely to have secured them on an exclusive basis.

In the ideal world I would get 2/3 of:

Pulp

Radiohead

The National

In my mind the second two are highly unlikely, so I am desperate for Pulp on the Saturday - the overall Saturday looks like a weak lineup to me, and this would save it.

Not sure if there is anyone else I would be particularly happy about...

'exclusives' with festivals generally mean a headline exclusive. This is how Pilton has managed to get acts that are headlining other festivals and put them on lower on their line up in the past.

What you say is the case with the Reading/Leeds headliners this year, but generally when a promoter says "exclusive" it means precisely that (tho normally related to a particular territory - such as 'UK' or 'English').

With regard to The Killers and HRC, my guess is that HRC will have had to pay an amount that's significantly over their normal (commercial) festival headlining fee, because The Killers will know (by the late booking) that they're a fill-in headliner, as well as the fact that they're doing this show as a 'special' at a time when they're not meant to be doing any shows.

From HRC's side of things, with The Killers being such a (compared to what's normal) late announcement which doesn't give much time to sell the tickets, and (I'm guessing) with them having had to pay an overly large fee, their want is very likely to be exclusivity so that their spend on that big fee is protected as much as it can be.

Last autumn I heard thru the grapevine that Suede only wanted to play one fest this summer, and that the festival was likely to be Latitude - which is the one fest they're confirmed for.

So if what I heard still holds true - tho of course it's always possible that things have changed since then, it's been a long time - then it won't be them.

The reason why I don't see Suede or the National as likely are the high FR billing they both have - headliners for Latitude and National 3rd from top at Reading/Leeds.

FR just seem like the kind of outfit which would be a real **** and have either a 'no-Glastonbury' or more general 'no UK festival' clause.
