In 2009 I bought 12 litres of this "Good Sicilian Red" in Morrisons and it was all gone by Saturday. Must have drank 5 litres of it on the Friday, filled up a Volvic bottle twice and had to restock at the wine bar a couple of times too. I was f**king BLOTTO for Neil Young. I tend not to hit the whiskey until 1am-ish. Cant drink it unless its cold.

We'll bring a load of vodka (probaly 6 litres) over from Russia, buy a couple of bottles of (spiced)rum duty free and that'll do. Buy mixers there, and beer from the bars.

Gin and orange juice. May sound like an odd combination but tastes amazing. Can be quite dangerous though as you can't really taste the gin and only really the orange so it disappears quite fast :D

clockworkpurple, if you like rose or white, try Pennard Organic vineyard. It's on the path between Greenpeace and Avalon, on the left as you approach Avalon. The raspberry was a lovely pink last year - and organic = no hangover!

Gin and lemonade. Just decant the gin into something that isn't glass and buy lemonade there. It doesn't taste too bad warmish, obviously better cold though.

I used to love gin and tonics but it's nasty stuff warm without ice and apparently too much tonic can give you bellyache ( obviously it could have nothing to do with the gin ;) )

A cautionary tale: my mate was really looking forward to Neil Young, was going to be the highlight of his festival. Unfortunately during the afternoon he'd wandered off to one of the dance tents with a 2 litre bottle of rum and coke (mixed half and half), drunk all of it in a couple of hours and came back wasted. Got about two songs into Neil Young's set before having to head off for a lie down! He's in his thirties, so you'd think he'd know better by now

If you are going to drink vodka during the day, with bought (cold) mixers, how much would it be reasonable to ration yourself too, to be chilled, but not wasted. I guess this depends on your own bodies reaction to alcohol, but roughly how much? I have no idea - half a litre? seems like a lot??

A unit is a unit is a unit (is 10ml of pure alcohol). So go by that.

    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
    • f**king horrendous and seems they couldn’t run an egg and spoon race.  zero info and the crush waiting to get in to see Massive Attack was potentially disasterous. Zero info, no stewards at all and was told that the whole evening was cancelled, when we got to the exit. Because it rained. First time attendee and i’ve got onsay, i’m far from impressed. Scalping bastard taxis asking €37 plus for an €11 fare too. Wonderdul.
    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
