the evidence of hundreds of years of selective breeding by the royal parasites is there for everybody to see. perhaps if you took off the rose tinted glasses of the gullible "ahh aint they sweet" class you would see that whats happening now is the same as with last major royal wedding.

you may think i`m " blinded by your own cynicism." but my view is based on fact, do your history research.

Guy...apologies if I came across being rude. I don't know why this topic has worked me up so much. Ha! I'll put it down to being a stressful week in work.

Maybe we'll have that beer and a more worthwhile debate.....morrissey or mumford and sons. To be contd at Glasto. Peace :)

tell you what, it'd take more than their wealth and 'privilege', if that's what you call it, to get me to swap places with William or Kate.

imagine having your life mapped out for you. in William's case, from birth.

all the big houses and money wouldn't be enough to take my freedom to make my own choices away from me. i can do pretty much what i want, when i want. they can't.

i almost pity them. almost.

What by making one joke ribbing royals for marrying other royals for hundreds if years?

They did actually do that. Check out liz and Phil. Or catherine di Medici. Or Charles and Di for that matter.

Let's put this in persective; your child shares 50% of of your genetic material, a grandchild 25%. 3d cousins share only 0.728%. Hardly worth worrying about. And you have not come up with other examples, so let just stop this pointless quibling. I've got a party to go to. A wedding party!! I intend to get quite drunk! :P

To avoid the whole ridiculous episode, my and some work pals decided to get in the middle of nowhere, so have been and hiked the Yorkshire 3 Peaks today. 8hrs 41mins, which I think is pretty good. Really good day, only 2 downsides:

1) the 50 mph winds on the tops were unpleasant and a bit scary at times.

2) Two neighbouring North Yorks villages on my route back home had arranged street parties so huge, they had closed the f**king main road. I mean it's a bastard A road FFS. When I complained to one tweedy twat and asked him why there was no signposted diversion and could he direct me around, I got dogs abuse for not being at home watching the wedding. I won't repeat my reply. Let's just say he was a bit shocked. c**t.

I enjoyed the royal wedding - there where loads of hyped up ladies in wedding style dresses in the local bars and pubs. The civil list cost us each about 64 pence per year plus security which is probably a lot more but the royal estates bring in lots of money, The civil list being around 30-40m million which is not a lot really in the grand scheme of things..

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
