Last years surprise line up was fantastic but it's a lot to ask for every year unless the bands cannot play the festival "proper" for some reason. I think it would be great if some bands played twice, Thursday night and again over the weekend, like Allo Darlin last year. That said hoping for Darren Hayman and British Sea Power.

I will let you into a secret, Ben onced graced the stage in a heavy metal band, complete with a leather jacket and long swinging hair.....

Actually I just realised that if I replied to all the other posts those bloody "tickets wanted" posts would go to page 2

I don't understand why wyou would NOT want some entertainment to be laid on on Thursday night...unless you weren't getting there until Friday. It's like saying I hope there's nothing going on at Glastonbury until the Friday.

For my part I'm hoping there's some nice, quiet, reflective artist on in the Tipi on Thursday night, so we can get told off for talking at the back again.

Cos it takes hours to erect the Mansion, sorry tent... and actually I would quite like to catch up with all the lovely people...

I hope there's nothing going on at Glastonbury till 2012, am sick to death of hearing about it!

Yes Thanks Matt for pointing out another of my errors!

Well it is listed as a 3 day festival, and I am grateful that by opening on the Thursday night I can avoid an early morning dash around the M25 or having to pay for accomodation in Salisbury. I think it would be rude to expect Simon & Sofia to lay on entertainment for us as well.

Having said that the cynic in me realises that by opening on the thursday night to campers it dissipates the extra traffic that another 3,500 people will cause arriving to the site on a friday morning!

Yeah, Junip self-confirmed and we think The Cornshed Sisters and Among Brothers will also be playing the Thursday.

British Sea Power sounds like a good shout as it looks like they're playing a festival about 2 miles away from my house on the Saturday of EOTR (since when has Ecchinswell of all places had a festival?!). So yeah, fingers crossed!

    • A few snaps from Sunday, which was huge fun, plus Happy Mondays, Radio Free Alice, Fratellis and Pale Waves. We didn't stay for The Streets, as after 3-4 songs it felt so downbeat compared to the rest of the day, and i've got another hectic week at work incoming.
    • It was fine, just hectic! The youngsters were mostly very well-behaved. The weather was a real bonus, although surprisingly chilly evenings - I guess it's the altitude - and the area between sound and main stage was a massive dust bowl.
    • Ive always had a lot of time for the mighty Shots, a pal of mine used to commentate on their games for Sussex Counties radio and he'd sneak me into the ground for midweek games, and we'd even nick a tea and a plate of sandwiches. This is back in the George Borg days, so um . . a little while ago now
    • Hmm, weird- Rush are playing the Co-Op live on the 12th and the 14th, and Megadeth are the meat in that sandwich - so they have to roll everything in, roll it out again, only to roll it back in and then out - here's hoping for a prog hokey-cokey with all manner of bizarre time signatures and drum solos!
    • Depends what you mean by seeing 'more stuff' about it.    I definitely don't trust the original Sun article.
