I think the pulp and kesha* announcements being made on the same day are partly responsible for my gloom.

*dunno whatshe looks or sounds like but is undoubtedly horrendous

People like Mardy will be happy?

Mardy, tell me who you like!

Damnit I want some good news. I'm not anti the older stuff but... for me a festival is about the latest and best. A chance to see bands you haven't seen before, or bands you know well but haven't seen on tour.

Most of the older acts I either a) have seen or B) haven't seen for a reason...

Yeah it's looking poor everywhere, that's true. Too many festivals and maybe the recession is another reason.

halvin junior-junior is due at the end of April. I asked Mrs H whether, if she went into labour while I was doing the clashfinder, I could stick her in a taxi to the hospital. I just got a very hard stare back. That probably means it's OK, right?

Failing that, you might have to wait until early May this year.

i didn't think we were supposed to moan about the anouncement until after it's made? this moaning about the anouncement of the anouncement is too post modern for me.

chin up everyone. stand up tall. it's tough, but if we all pull together we can make it through.

I've just looked through the A-Z list and there are 19 acts I would definitely like to see. That's about 15 more than last year.

I think the line up looks great.

If only I had a ticket.

Does anyone else think Lady Gaga could play under Beyonce? For a long time i've been imagining this is the sort of thing that could happen, i can see it working really well with Gaga also coming on during Beyonce's set to do whatever songs they do together. I know a lot of people would think it was too much of a 'pop' closing for the Sunday night but i really can't think of anyone else who would play under Beyonce. Im not sure on Gaga's tour dates etc but I reckon glasto probably have asked her to play? Also i'm just thinking about the whole V fest thing this year where they have rihanna as the 'special guest' playing under Eminem, where it's looking likely she will collaborate with him during his set too.

wondered if others thought this kind of set up would work at glasto!

I know there are a fair few acts in the rumours section but surely that's only a small section of the total lineup. I'm still holding out hope that the Eavi have some suprises up their sleeves.

God I hope they have some suprises up their sleeves.

I read this comment all the way through and thought, "Wow! That would be an incredibly crap end to the festival! If they could get Reggie Yates to compere in between both of those mind-numbingly tedious acts we could pretend we were accidentally tuned in for the chart show!"

Then I re-read the beginning of your comment and thought, "Yeah! I have thought that and it isn't the worst thought I've ever had!"

Nothing to do with the festival, mind. And I have no idea if Beyoncnull always insists on being on top.

I never really understand why people get a lob on for complaining about "chart music" (because obviously U2, Coldplay and Elbow haven't sold a record). A couple of shitty acts play yeah, mainly because they are sadly popular and record labels leverage them onto the bill for other bands. It's a trade off. Plus, I must confess, the musical taste on this board is hardly cutting edge!

Sunn 0))) to headline the Pyramid please

Plus I've had the worst week ever (went to a walk in centre with a stomach ache, rushed to hospital to have my about to explode appendix taken out followed by 3 days in one of the worst hospitals in London), so I don't understand the pessimism! Out of the bands announced already I'm super psyched for Big Boi, Janelle Monae, Warpaint, Fleet Foxes and Beyonce - AND BB MOFOING KING, plus loads to come, bring it on!

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
