When the delivery guy turned up with my ticket last year he had a big smile on his face and handed it to me saying: "Have a great Glastonbury." He said it had been the best day of his year delivering Glasto tickets and making so many people so happy.

For those who are crying for the royal mail to deliver your tickets, be assured your opinion would rapidly change when you discover how they deal with things that are lost, recorded delivery or not (they will not accept that an item is lost until 14 days after despatch, after which they require a further 14 days to investigate before the item is agreed lost and the sender recompensed, so that they can then pay you back).

Ah man, and I had just changed the delivery address from my parents house to my flat. Bummer.

That said, Royal Mail aren't saints - spent a whole day chasing Reading day tickets around London because they'd gone on strike and after missing the delivery they sent it back to Mount Pleasant instead of my local sorting office, who then refused to so much as look for it, even though I had all the sack numbers and everything.

The grass is always greener eh!

I'm delighted that my mate's g/f ordered our tickets in so I don't have this hassle to "look forward" to.... However, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned about my ticket!

I was amazed that See Tickets kept their association with Glasto after the great coach clusterf**k of 2007! The Eavii are either overly forgiving or save money by signing contracts that last more than a year.

When I started payment and checked it sair sent by Royal Mail and I smiled.

Then I got the email and the smile faded pretty quick (DX).. Luckily I changed the delivery address to my wifes work after the agro of the last 2 years..

Royal mail recorded would be so much easier.

I am lucky that a DX Depot is only a few miles away from my home, and less than 1 mile away from one of the offices I sometimes work from. Last year, when I wasn't in when they first tried to deliver it, I arranged to go on my lunch break to pick it up.

In fact, it was so easy that this year I've had all 5 of my group's tickets sent to my address rather than agonise about whether or not they've managed to receive the tickets.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
