The All-American Rejects

Just to throw it out there, Justice are around tonight, playing live in Dalston. Seems like they're beginning a promo cycle for their new record. Also read they want to start touring on New Years Day.

Yeah could do, I put A7X opposite Bloc Party in the NME on my last suggested lineup, so I put them back on main to mix things up a bit...also some people said their stage set up would only really work on a bigger stage?

With regards to Placebo I just wanted someone a little heavier on that day to keep the rockier element of the festival intact...

Will Enter Shikari really be back for a fourth year in a row though? It's not like they're KIGH or BBC and only taking low-profile slots, so I don't know if they'd get away with it. I reckon they're due for Download or Sonisphere.

I just meant that's who I'd see from your line-up; so basically all of main stage, except I'd go see Enter Shikari on the second stage as my Saturday headliner.

Just gonna quote myself to prove Gazza as a liar for claiming some kind of inside knowledge.

It isn't true. This is your source.

Quote

Me,Beardy,Lee and Nfe hang out with Dave most weekends we got him drunk last weekend and as he lives with Andy we dared him to get the keys for the Livenation office and go and look for the piece of paper with the headliners on it and he found it and told us.

From the Download Forums.

I personally believe that Slipknot will not be headlining at R&L for 2 reasons:

1. They are on a break from the band

2. Even if they do get back in time, i think they are far too niche, admitedly they have a huge following globally. But whether the following is that big in the UK, im unconvinced. I think if they're going to headline anywhere it would be at download.

Having it been announced that the Bloc Party split was a joke (publicity stunt) i fully expect them to headline.

Also MB has spoken of bringing new headliners to the field so i think a Biffy Clyro and Bloc Party coheadline fits the bill.

I think we're gunna see an alternative act, i.e Jay-Z and Kanye, to attract the masses and sell tickets.

And I am still hung up on the idea of Aerosmith.

MB has confirmed 2 bands are confirmed headliners, and one has guitars.

To me that says that one doesn't (Jay-Z and Kanye) and then Aerosmith (famed for theyre guitars)

Foo Fighters would be a real kop out of a booking despite it being 20 years since Nirvana '92, HOWEVER, there is talk all over the internet of a holographic (like the gorillaz live shows) remake of Nirivana '92 being made, so I think this could definitely feature.

sorry but there's absolutely no way Aerosmith are gonna headline Reading. Bloc Party...possibly but I doubt it. Not certain on Foo Fighters but they're the obvious bet at this stage. I reckon there'll be some surprises and interesting developments leading up to the festival though. Just cannot wait.

I wouldn't say no way Aerosmith would play but I would say it's highly unlikely. In the past ten years we've had GnR and Iron Maiden so I wouldn't say Aerosmith are completely out the question though i've heard mixed reviews of thier live shows of late.

    • New Overmono album is... just good for me. Had high hopes which were later dashed a bit after listening to some of the singles but they brought me back around enough to appreciate some very nice work in there. https://music.apple.com/ie/album/pure-devotion/1894298100
    • I don't really worry about headliners (unless there's a real possibility of a once-in-a-lifetime artist landing for it) but I'm starting to feel a bit cold on the names floating around bar Fontaines.  Harry Styles and Sam Fender, I can see the value and commercially speaking, they've earned it.  Sabrina Carpenter is obviously popular enough to do it - but after she's headlined everywhere else and done Coachella earlier this year, is it not just a bit predictable to follow what other festivals have done?
    • Bollocks to “safe” headliners, bollocks to the masses. Get interesting, get risky, challenge people.
    • The Cure would be a dream, I can definitely see them doing a second run of festivals they may have missed this year and they seem the definitive Latitude act  If they do festivals next year maybe The Strokes could be a shout? Im stunned either them or Kings of Leon haven't played yet This is a great shout for names, youre right that CMAT is taking a year out though - we're like to know more in the autumn when festivals start making announcements  The only other act I'd really love to see is Idles headline the tent
