Headliners confirmed and Prodigy NOT playing

If RHCP do headline, it would probably be something like

Still think MCR are pretty much nailed on to headline though

MCR are going to headline and I don't really care, accepted it a long time ago. I think we will get some big surprises in the top 3 of each day though

It's definately a better booking than Razorlight, Franz and The Darkness were (even though I was a big fan of Razorlight back in the day). Those 3 had only had 2 albums when they headlined. And going back further, Travis.

Well I've seen better hewadliners but I've also seen worse. I might watch The Strokes and MCR but I'll definately not be watching Muse.

I've accepted that MCR will headline to! The only positive i can bring from them headlining is the fact its new headline material stepping up to mark (hopefully) Then again i won't be watching them. But The Strokes and Muse for me is fantastic!

the offspring confirmed that they arnt doing anything till 2011 if i read correctly. so they won't be at reading.

may pick up a cheap ticket a week before as its literally a five minute walk from my house but its ATP again for me this year.

Headliners aren't exclusive. Headliners 'aren't headlining anywhere else'. MCR are not headlining TITP, so they are allowed to headline Leeds/Reading.

As everyone did with Arcade Fire last year, and have done with numerous new headliners year after year. As did many when Muse played Glasto the first time also.

I disagree with the travis argument, they were very populat back in the day. Also disagree with the idea that bands cant headline festivals after 2 albums. I think you have to judge it on a case by case basis. Nobody could surely claim oasis or coldplay didnt deserve to headline uk festivals after 2 albums.

You missed my point - MCR have had 4 albums and probably have a comparable level of popularity with Razorlight and Franz Ferdinand. Travis and The Darkness were both massive at the times they headlined, but looking back now it just looks a bit odd that they played in that spot.
