I went there for Sunday sunrise in 2010 after a 6 hour nightshift and 2 hour Shangri-la wander. It was one of my "must do's". Found a nice spot, settled down in the dark, fell asleep but actually, when I woke up, it was all rather lovely. The walk back to my base at 7am I took in most the main stages and it felt amazing to be up when the majority are sleeping. My photos of that walk back are more treasured than the ones of the gigs as they are more unique to me.

Do it.

I've been thinking more about this thread.

Why should anyone visit the stones? Well, its a great escape hole to recharge and review what you've already done. Glasto is busy busy busy - like any major city on a Saturday. And I don't personally like cities that much. If you do go to the stones, have a wee beforehand and take a snack / drink with you as you are away from all "mod-cons". The view across the valley is a-ma-zing. You see the "Temporary City", unique for 5 days only. A place that exists only becasue it can. Attended only by the few that ask to be there. Its a good time to check in with your self and reflect on your needs for the next 12 / 24 hours. Good things happen when many people stop and reflect together.

What makes the dawn so special at Glasto. Its an event. Its the solstis. Its always special seeing in a new day before bed. There is just something so sweet and calm between 5am and 8am.

We were there! You know?
